Hey all...

Just got done with a HORRID ebay experience...I know, we've all had them. I purchased a set of 340 heads from a Clewwho40/Shaw City Engines in February and have just finished paying to have them rebuilt.

This jerk used the wrong retainers, too big for the valves; the wrong springs; and didn't even clean up the valve seats. Want to make sure that everyone avoids this jackwad.

He has a 98% rating which is not too bad...Did you email the guy with your complaint? You could of filed a complaint with ebay and gotten your money back before you did all that head work...There are some things I wouldn,t trust on ebay...Engines and engine part rebuilding...

Yea, I've emailed the guy, but haven't heard back...Since I purchased them in February it's not likely that I'll see anything. Like many of us, I purchase parts and stockpile them...I give them the once over, but I don't go through them until I get to that point in the build. It ended up working out, I was getting the heads ported anyway, so all it cost me was $120 in springs and retainers...just pisses me off!

Don't count on it. I bought an advertised '68 console which when I received it was the front half of a '67 two piece console. I tried contacting the seller and could not get a reply. I then filed a complaint with ebay and they wanted me to get it appraised (which I did). They then deducted the appraisal from the purchase price and refunded me the difference. I told them I didn't want the damn thing at all and to my mind, it was worth zero dollars as I had no use for it. Take it or leave it was their reply, so don't count on ebay to make it right.

I sold something on eBay and the buyer filed against me about it not being as advertised and not packaged well. I got notice of the dispute, then an hour later got notice that it had been resolved in the buyer's favor. I HADN'T EVEN SHIPPED THE DAMN THING and eBay took his side. It took several phone calls and e-mails before eBay woke up. I won, finally, as the buyer never responded to their requests for more information. How the hell could they say the buyer should get his money back when he hadn't even gotten the part yet!!!!! I used to love eBay. Thinks like this, plus their requirement to use PayPal period, turned me off on them.

EBay is nothing more than a chinese shopping mall. Only 1% is an actual person selling something of value. The rest are just selling junk, knock offs or middle man trying to make 3% on a sale from the manufacture.

I have gotten some pretty good deals on ebay...I have sold things that no one wanted at the swap meet on ebay...Hell pretty much my whole car was built from ebay parts...I have had just a few bad experiences...So I,m gonna keep workin the ebay thing..

I've had pretty good luck with ebay too...gotten some great deals. This guy just pissed me off. He's out of Fresno and only does engine work...I could've excused some of it, but this is insane. I just don't want other folks buying from the guy.

Glad to say 98% good results using eBay--I've gotten several NOS parts and many other hard-to-find parts. Ya gotta know there's always going to be a small % of idiots making it hard for the good guys.

I've gotten some good parts and deals on Ebay, alot of my car parts are from all over the country. I think I will stick with Ebay too..........

I'm not saying to avoid ebay, just to avoid Clewwho40...I think ebay is generally good.

Maybe you should of done what the old lady in the america,s tire comercial did...Throw the heads threw his front window!!!!I hate the town of fresno anyways..

True, I've sniped some good deals - brand new repop grill and bezels for my Road Runner for $300 plus the ride was the most recent (anybody wanna buy a driver quality grill and bezel set with all the mounting hardware??) but sometimes eBay drives me nuts!
