1970 Superbird clone
What I have here is originally a B7 blue 70 Road Runner 383 4 speed that has been cloned into a Superbird using a Janek kit. I bought this car in the condition you see here 2 years ago. I have so many new or restored parts for this car that I cannot list them all. I will break it down by general area to discuss certain items.
Body: Rotisserie restored with sub frame connectors and Hemi torque boxes and finished in gloss black underneath. It has had the floors, trunk floor, extensions, and both quarters replaced. The work on the body is exceptional, very straight and vibrant finished in R4 red. The nose, wing, hood and doors need to be painted still but are ready for paint. The nose has been outfitted by Erik Nelson with his exceptional reproduction metal parts. It has original vacuum actuators that are fully functional along with a reproduction vacuum harness. I also have a complete decal kit for it.
Interior: I have most everything new for the interior. The pedals, steering column, heater box, dash bezels, and gauges have been restored to perfection. I have the headliner, seat covers, cushions, carpet, and vinyl top all new in boxes. I also have a very nice 4 speed center console and an original pistol grip handle. I also have the side glass and rear window, no windshield.
Suspension: The front suspension has all new components with single piston disc brakes. The rear has 2 sets of different leaf springs, cad plated hangars, and rebuilt 3.54 sure grip Dana. I also have all new rear brake components. The rear end housing has been powder coated but the front is painted.
Engine and trans: I have a 68 440 core for rebuild and a 23 spline trans that has been rebuilt. I don’t have a bell housing or shifter for it. I also have an original six pack set up for it. It has an aluminum intake and 71 auto carbs. No distributor or radiator. I am missing other small items like alternator and brackets.
Summary: This car has a lot of the expensive and hard work done and needs the engine rebuilt and assembly. Overall I feel my price is reasonable, you could not build this car for less! I am sure I have left a lot out and have a list of over 100 small items that I have for the car. I encourage anyone serious about buying to see it in person or have a trusted friend or inspector look at it.
It is located in Southern California and my asking price is 30K.
