'69 RR 383 4-speed bench seat. F8 green w/saddletan int. black carpet.just wondering how uncommon this combination is.A guy i know wants to buy it for his wife but he wants to change the color to yellow ext/black int w/buckets.if it is to unsual,i won't sell it to him and will post it here. thanks.

Given the car's age , the carpet's most-likely been replaced ; maybe it had rubber flooring originally .

the guy i bought the car from (a friend) bought it from the orig owner. There is a scrap piece of carpet i got with the car along with all parts that were cataloged in bags, boxes, etc.I'm pretty sure it's from the orig carpet.I was just wondering about the paint and int combo mainly.

It's a 4 speed car, so it had black carpet. Green and tan isn't that unusual, but you see more green with green. RED with tan would be more rare I would think

ok, i was wondering cause i saw an article in a mopar mag that had a '69 gtx i think that had the same color combo and they called "rare" because it was more of what they would put on a british car.

IIRC, that article was in Mopar Collectors Guide. They have a tendancy to call anything 'rare', 'odd' or '1 of 1' when they haven't taken the time to do any research as to the real scarcity of what they are writing about.

F3, F5 and F8 were all recommended colors with the tan interior so there should be nothing odd about the combination. It may not be common, but since the production numbers are not known for 69, it's impossible to call it 'rare'.

ok thamks for the imput, now i just have to face the moral delema if i want to sell the car to someone i know knowing they want to change the color to yellow ext/black int.

My 69 swinger 340 had an F3 green, tan interior combo with black carpet. Sold it to a guy that wanted to put it back original. Thought it would look odd but it really set it off and looked nice. Was a 4spd car as well.
