Sorry to hear of it, That part don't sound cool, back pain i rate up there with a tooth acke, only with a tooth acke you can still walk, if you can see straight! its a rough one.... Good luck and congrats!

I can relate to the back problems, I blew mine out 6 years ago and pain is a daily reminder, sorry to hear. You ever see a kinesiologist? There is a good one in Romeo that I would highly recommend, keep an open mind as to what you choose to do about it, there are lots of options other then surgery.

I may need to move. Im lucky if there are 2-3 Mopars at the car shows in my area. (NE Alabama)Where did they all go? Im lucky I found this site so I can get my thrills.:headbang:

Thanks for the kind words guys.

MY WIFE IS 3 DAYS PAST HER DUE DATE!!!!!!!!!!I guess the baby like it in there and doesn't wanna come out. 21st is the induction date. My wife is not happy about extending the date 11 days. The kid is already close to 8 lbs. now. Crazy.

AS far as the back goes the doc wants me to take it easy and do physical therapy for a month. He also said take a month off of work. I'm not happy about that, but I can't work all drugged up. Vicadin and percocets don't do much for the pain. Oxycontin makes me all loopy and stupid. Now I am on MS Contin (morphine sulfate) and motrin. It helps a lot and makes my body feel pretty normal, but I get real tired and need to take a couple naps everyday. I am hoping for the best and will do whatever it takes to avoid surgery. Screw that stuff.

For now I am taking it easy. No working, fishing, restorations, cutting the grass or much of anything. I need to be able to function once my son comes, since the wife will be out of commission for a while, so I can't be pushing it.

Same at the ones here for the past three years (being fair, it is a rather small community).. And then there mostly the trucks and vans, very few cars and the most of them A body's... No problem there but you would think there would be more and at least a few B-C-E Body's to drool over. This is Chevy country where im located, id guess about 70 percent with 20 percent being Fords. Shame i call it, even selling/buying Mopar parts is rough, There is another member here that has gotten ahold of me and i him seeing parts in the local paper lol.. truth! he said "I think you and I are the only ones around with Mopar cars"..

And Mike, You take it easy and get well quick!

Doctor perscribed therepy is a a useless waist of time and money, never once did it give me any relief. Nor did the cortizone epiderals, or the vicodins. I was on phentinil which is basically what they turn to when the morphine is ineffective. I was on the phentinil patches and eating Motrin and tylenal like they were M&Ms until my gut started to hurt and the phentinil patches had some nasty withdrawl side effects which was almost as bad as the back pain itself. Spinal decompression is what you are after, give it a shot, it is the reason I was able to get back on my feet. See if anybody has got a machine called the DRX9000 near you and GO THERE!

Matt - I was doing decompression for several months, three times a week at my chiropractor. Now I'm not sure if it is the same machine that you are referring to. Basically this machine would flex below the waist while the chiropractor would stretch and put pressure on certain vertabra. It was working well for me and allowed me to golf and do other things. Somehow I took my back over the edge this time. I am afraid to go back to the chiro because I am not sure if more damage could be done. I have not done any twisting or manual adjustments there, because my back seems sensitive and I dont wanna push anything. I am really not sure what to do. I never thought I would say this, but being off of work for a long time is no fun. Maybe if I could actually do something while off of work I would enjoy it. I will let you know if anything works for me. The pills seem to work well, but I really don't wanna take that crap for any longer than I have to.

Mike I hope you get this under control soon... If you need something to keep you busy and hopefully take your mind from it all try buying a model car and putting it together, im, not by choice, off my feet a lot and that doctors (both) orders, I found that putting them together helps me a lot! Sometimes if the pain is bad its hard to stay focused but generally it is fun and keeps you off your feet to further damage things.. Only a suggestion but if you think it may help, go to ehobbies.com and they have anything and everything to get you started! Good luck.

I have heard a lot of good things about an inversion table. Thanks for the info Matt.

Hey matt. where are you located anyway? My buddy is in the process of setting up a car show. He wants to pick a day that doesnt conflict with the other local shows. His shop is in sterling hts.. i will keep the groups posted on the show. Maybe a meet and greet is in order.
