My Coronet project

Thank guys! Got a load of photos coming up, did you think I was laying in the couch? You are wrong!
Starting up with these two as an overview, almost ready for first startup, been checking the electric and it seems to work, no smoke so far but I don´t want to leave the battery connected when I am not near...

Got some photos of the rear end, I know some of you out there like this car **** so here it is:
Kept the old bearings, just cleand and regreased the axles.
It is pretty easy to work on it when it is not under the car, all threads have been cleand and got antisieze, got a thrush spacer installed to adjust the end play. The only thing missing is new drums but they are on its way.
The clamps have been blasted and they are also adjusted to fit perfectly in the holes, don´t know if they warped during blasting but they did not fit right away.

Ran into a fuelpump on a local list that I could not resist!
I also checked the old gas tank one for leaks, it was like Kaddaffis body, got a new one from Canada.
Upgrading the fuellines to 3/8 with a new sending unit and new aluminum pipe.
Just in case, there is a 500+ RB on the wish list...

Done some work on the right QP, had to replace the outer lip and some small patches, put on some primer and will soak it in anti rust later on.

Those Clecos are very handy!

Tried to avoid warping during welding and it was almost perfect, just some minor warping, it took aprox 5 000 spot welds...

Blasted the trunk and pre mounted the floor, there is some holes to be drilled before welding...

Got the left side to do but there is just the inner fener lip, then I will take on the rear tail panel and after that it is time to got to the paint shop!!!

It is getting really close now!

Nice to see you got off the couch Swede :headbang: JK Looking really good! Keep up the great work!

way to go swede.looks great on the axle, and great work on that wheelhouse.can't wait to see it in all one color.

Finally made some major progress in adjusting fenders, hood and doors, the right fender was hard to adjust, had to remove the door and use a 4 feet piece of wood to get it right, it had a dent in the reinforcement that was really tough.

Be careful what you wish for, I work for beer and food! And I eat a lot!
Indiana, hmm, Mellencamp country?

I am ok with the food and beer...can't cost me more then shop labor rates!

Porter County....Portage. Near Chicago

OK, I meant John Mellencamp :icon_wink:, this is my picture of Indiana:

From 1985 and still up to date!

Nice...yes that would be the majority of the state but not quite this area. We are more like a suburb of Chicago then a farming community though if you head about 5 miles south of me this would be easy to re-film.

Damn, Swede. That Bee is going to be amazing! People in Sverige are gonna flip when you hit the road!

BTW, well done with the American flag in your garage.

Took a break from the work with the car and went to a local car meet, my friend Sven picked me up in his wonderful Coronet ragtop, the second Coronet ever outside my house! (the first have not seen sunlight for years...)
It was just a local meeting with all kind of cars, took some photos of some of the mopars.
