69 RR paint code

Was doing some sanding on my RR the other day when i was home.Noticed there was a lot of red paint under the vitamin c orange that i painted over 20 yrs ago in bodyschool.Can't remember if it was red when i got it.Got looking at the fender tag and it says K2 for paint code.There is another K2 on top of the first one.I know my car came with a vinyl top(black) and the hood treatment(black stripes).All the books that i have for paint codes say that EK2 is the code for vitamin c orange.Is the code on the fender tag the same color.The dash vin matches the fender tag number.

I'm sure it's a K. I looked at it several times and doubled checked. It does not say V2,it says K2 on the fender tag.

Orange with no vinyl top is what the fender tag reads.

Isn't the code for performance hood paint "V21" ?

Does your tag show that?

Not sure about the body color code

M21 Drip rail moldings,since N25 is an engine block heater, I'm going to go out on a limb and say she said M25 which is body sill moldings,R11 AM radio,V1X black vinyl top,V21 perf hood treatment.END
K2 vitamin C orange,K2 ?,H2X vinyl bench in black,X9 black upper door frames 526 built may 26 of '69.297877
B63 is likely E63 which is 383/335,D32 727 auto,RM23H9G275xxx

I don't know why you have double K2s, that usually means a monotone paint scheme without vinyl and it can't be the udf color because it's called out as black. Maybe a mistake?

I don't know why you have double K2s....

Different plants coded things differently. STL coded upper and lower body paint that way even on convertibles or cars with a vinyl top (V1X). That is properly coded for STL built K2 with black top. See picture for the configuration

69 K2 = Plymouth only
69 V2 = Dodge only

Mine is solid "R6" red and I have R6 on my fender tag twice also.

thanks for the help and replies guys. I just wanted to make sure when i saw the red under my orange paint,that somebody didn't redash my car before i bought it back in the mid 80's.My wife will be happy to know that the car is still vitamin c w/black vinyl top. She really likes that combo.
