Are These B Bodie Plymouth's ( for fun)

I was in Florida last week and attended the Zepherhylls Car Show.
While there i took a few pictures of these old Plymouth's and could not determine
if these were B Bodies or not.

I had a fun time, but it is not much different than the Carlisle, Pa shows i have attended.

I don't think the 5 gal bucket over the exhaust on the last one was a factory option. Possibly a dealer add on or someone is trying to pull a fast one on you claiming it was factory. I'd look for the build sheet to verify for sure. The good news is AMD might have patch panels for these, or you can cut up old refrigerators.
 
Those are super cool. Critters are what they are called. Look like 25 tonners. I model narrow gauge and have scratch built a few of those. Thanks for the pics.
 
Plymouth locomotive company wasn't connected to Chrysler at all. Believe it or not but that Plymouth company made one car, but testing wasn't successful so it was destroyed. Apparently Chrysler had no problem with them having the same name. Those locomotives pictured above look like gas-hydraulic units, so the engines drive transmissions to one of the axles and the axles are usually connected by chain, but they can also use side rods like a steam locomotive so all 4 wheels are driving wheels, compared to how a diesel-electric has a high horsepower engine powering a generator to traction (electric) motors on each individual axle. The Plymouth locomotives would have been used on industrial and mining lines because of their lightweight and short wheelbase. They were worked very hard and were pretty banged up by the time they were retired. I usually see much more narrow gauge Plymouths than stardard gauge ones. A few railroad museums up around me in the New England area use locomotives similar to these, but in 2 foot gauge. The White Mountain Central Railroad up at Clark's trading post has a similar locomotive to the ones above, but it is a vulcan and has a chevy motor in it (yuck!) I got a cab ride in the climax a couple years ago, that thing rides rough! It's one of 3 operational in the world. The saddle tank is a baldwin and its 100+ years old. Clark's is really cool they have a ton of cool old stuff there like a moxie horsemobile and a bunch of other old cars, motorcycles, fire engines and logging equipment. All the stuff is from NH and Maine. Everything there is pre 1950's except for a GE 44 tonner they use during the off season. The railroad has been there for over 50 years and the place itself has been there for more than 80. They started off as a sled dog ranch, then went to bears shows and the railroad was added later, whole place has been run by one family from the start.
 
Very cool! I bet that thing handles like it's on rails.

And I think those are not B bodies but more like Z bodies (or in Mar's case DD bodies!).
 
It really burns me when people leave these things to rot! Cripes - they aren't even inside -- There are a bunch of guys that would give a testicle to have a numbers matching Plymouth shunter loco-whatist thingy like this!!!

Reminds me of a neighbor who had an old Plymouth 0-4-4-0 steamer with the original six-pack firebox, sure-grip drawbar AND the ultra rare SUNDANCE upholstery. I tried to get him to sell it to me - but he just kept saying he'd restore it SOMEDAY..

Seriously(moi?),way cool locos,and it's too bad they're rotting away. Like the other guys stated;it would be nice to see them back to operational condition. Bit of a train fan myself;played with HO stuff until it all went to the Chinese for production. Did enjoy building the craftsman kits from Sunshine and Funaro&Camerlengo;too bad every good quality(from a detail standpoint) loco was either Chinese or uber-expensive brass from Japan. Grew up in Grand Trunk Western/C&O/NYC country;Saw(and rode behind) the last local steam on GTW tracks. Have some former co-workers that are part of the restoration crew out in Owosso,doing up the Pere Marquette 2-8-4 Berkshire(PM #1225;used in the "Polar Express" movie).
 
I would love to have one of the "PLYMOUTH" hood name plates!

Any chance they are parting them out LOL!
