Myself.......a Quickfuel. Newer into the world of my quickfuel carb for my 512, but after learning all it's features, design, the quality of it's build and after the dyno, it makes the Edelbrock performer sitting on my Coronet seem soooo generic and non-adjustable it's almost sad to have it on there.

Not knowing the application skews the poll somewhat, but I agree on the quickfuel. I've used a lot of those carbs and they always perform well.

I could describe all the detail of the motor but this is informal and based on conversations with Holley and Quick Fuel techs it is determined an 850 is plenty and streetable so now comes which one? Oh and boosters were discussed and determined the down leg would best suit this application, mechanical secondaries due to low vac and no choke. voter up fellas

ProSystems Holley HP 1000 here for my streeter...But can see a Holley Dominator in the future

sounds like the motor is a bit hot so go with the quick fuel or ultra hp.you will be much more pleased with the adjustability and power you get out of those choices.

all those carbs have the same venturi area and throttle bores and they're based on the holley 850. i don't think it makes any difference.

I would consider only two carbs The Quick Fuel or Holly 950! The Quick Fuel is better built. The second choice is the 950 Holly since it is the best tunable carb.

personally i have had 2 demons and one sport claw carb... they all worked like crap for me.. ive never had an issue with the holley hp's
just my two pennies

pro form..more bang for the buck

it is interesting to note that the Quick Fuel carb IS the Proform. look at the spec's, read what option's the both have and even Quick Fuel states that they use the preform body. and the Proform carbs are assembled by Quick Fuel. the only difference is the Proform is purple and the quick fuel is red. Other then that your buying the name. take a good look at them both, the Proform has all the benefits as all the other at a substantially lower cost. I am not sure if the Holley has billet metering blocks as well as a billet base plate( a common failure in Holley carbs). just my humble opinion:toothy10:

Bought a Quick Fuel a few days ago and am VERY happy with...best user friendly carb on the market today.

Pro form makes carb bodies for everyone. Quick Fuel, Holly both use them. Holley is just a name. Since their Bankrupcy years ago a great deal is out sourced overseas. Cheaper labor, lower regulations and skills in the third world for manufacturing. But you are correct the bodies are made by proform.

I am leaning towards the Ultra HP it has some new features they sound real good for a street car. Anyone have one of these already?
