So this is the story..

I met my buddy at his house. We were headed to look at a 78 Z28 in DE. As we leave his house, he gets a call and was told it was sold. So, We jumped in the truck anyway and headed to my Dads on the Eastern Shore. Drank a few beers, shot the crap and asked him if he ever see's that Chevelle for sale down the road a few miles. This guy has been trying to sell for 2 yrs. Dad said yup, still for sale. Sitting outside now.

When we left Dad's, My buddy and I went to see the Chevelle. Spoke to the owner of the Chevelle for about 20-30 minutes and he showed us some of his other projects. The conversation turned to Mopars (by me of course).
He mentions he knows where there is a Roadrunner sitting behind a guys house a few miles down the road.
He gave us directions. So two beers deep, My buddy and I go there. I knock on a total strangers door.

Below is the tour I got...for a good 90 min chatting up cars. Yes... Hes willing to sell. But not the Coronet 500 which he drove in High School. I told him I'd give him a call in a week or two.

I'm still kinda grinning ear to ear on these finds.

very cool finds... love the Rally Green 69 Charger R/T & the 69 Hemi RR or GTX hood shot, is the rest of the car there too ??... LOL... not that I have any damn money or that I'm going to go all the way back east anyway, I'm just curious... I can't help it

I pretty much gave up even bothering to look for em anymore. Seems like it's either "I'm going to fix it up someday" or "that thing is worth 25 grand just like it sits" or "it belonged to my great great grand daddy and I'll never let it go" while it all just sits and rots. Told one guy if it's so sentimental, why are you letting it rot away....or is it just mental? The SOB said he had his shot gun just inside. I said yeeaaah? My .45 is on my side so if you run inside to get it, you had better stay there lol. Figured it wasn't worth a shoot out and left him standing where he was but didn't take my eyes off of him. Had similar crap happen once where a guy came to look at a Challenger body shell I had and I told him exactly what was on it before he got here but he was expecting a new car I guess. He was pissed and made a comment about using a shot gun. Little did he know mine was within reach and he changed his tune when I pumped in a round and asked him how he wants it as he started to walk off. When he heard that 'sound', started double timing it! lol

Cool find! My mother in law has a real nice 56 chevy truck I would like to see back on the road, it sits in the barn just rotting away, if you ask her about it oh its my brothers (who is dead).......We have a nice lokar floor shifter for it and she freaked out about putting that in it. Pulled the gas tank and it had about 15 gallons of old gas and rust all up in there. Its just pins and needles when you talk to people about rotting vechicles............my mother in law is a bit of a nut job tho!

That's some cool projects. I'm glad I didn't find them I would be trying to buy all of them. It seems to be more fun buying more projects rather then getting the ones I already have done. It's a sickness for sure.

About the best thing you could do is to 'steal' it and have it restored then present it to her. Once it's all back to the way it was, she'll most likely go ape over it. But, you have to be rather quick about it....

I have my hooks in the RT.. He paid $200 for each Mopar except for the 66 Coronet 500 in the garage.
My buddy bought the Hemi hood to just hang on his wall in his shop. Paid $40 for it. To bad the darn I is missing.

those are some great finds. what is it about the '69 Chargers that most have the center grill trim mashed?

Rusty how do you keep finding these chargers?:icon_scratch:

Well, I found this particular R/T as noted above, word of mouth. I went to look at a RR and he wanted to show me the gold Coronet 500 next to the Charger first. It was hard to stay interested in the Coronet 500.

I bought a few cars by knocking on doors but was never greeted quite like that! Note to self: Don't knock on doors in Texas!

I dig old Mopars, but I've never gotten in a firefight over one. The Red Ryder I bought to pop squirrels wouldn't scare no one off anyway. :)

Thanks for posting the pics... good luck in your quest!

Good deal. especially if you got it a decent price. Most people watch way too much TV and think their car is a scuff and paint job away from Barrette Jackson.

Back in the 80's I did buy a 70 Challenger on a coin toss.

What's funny is, a lot of cars sold at BJ are not "barrett Jackson".
so where in Delaware?
