I'm 57 years old, and can listen to "Monster Magnet" everytime I put on music. Lots of influences from my youth, and nobody else that really sounds the same. He[Dave Wyndorf] makes old-school references, and the guitar work is incredible. Just saw them in November at St. Andrew's, in downtown Detroit. They're a Jersey band, and this was their first American tour in 10 years. Europeans have a huge rock-music scene, and "get" them.....so do I. It's a cult following here, and everybody knows all the lyrics at their shows.

Death Cab for Cutie or Head and the Heart. Days not hours I can listen to those bands.

Didn't want anybody to think I was nuts....but can listen to Monster Magnet forever. Really moves my emotions.

It would have to be Metallica. There are so many great songs, and I never get tired of hearing them.

There are several for me at this point that I can listen to non stop. In Order:

1. Black Sabbath with Ozzy or Dio - Far and away my #1 band. Been my favorite band since I was about 12. 'Into the Void' is a ridiculous metal tune.
2. Iron Maiden - need I say more? The write epics.
3. Orange Goblin - English Hard Rock/Metal band. last album 'A Eulogy for the Damned' is absolutely excellent.
4. Clutch - Their latest album 'Earth Rocker' is an excellent Rock record. Not a clunker tune on there.
5. Black Label Society

I will agree about Monster Magnet, they are damn good too. I missed out seeing them recently at a small place in West Chester, PA. I heard there were only a few hundred people there. That would have been excellent.

And a few others at the ripe age of 58, Love the old tunes of the 70's a time when girls had short blue jean shorts almost on with the halter tops and flowing long hair that demanded attention and she still looks hot to me! :) great music, greater cars and fun in the sun, moon lite nights on the sand and its good times to remember, and live over! :)

Steely Dan; Jefferson Starship; Neil Young; Allman Bros; Widespread Panic. And like Matt says, I can go on and on.

For my money the studio version of Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young and Crazy Horse is just about the best rock song of all time. I'll bet I've spent hundreds of hours trying to perfect the guitar chords on this song. Thanks Ron.

Sue and I think this one was one of the best Steely Dans tunes...

Judas Priest.

You can't fit all their "good songs" on one CD.

More often than not the ENTIRE album is good.

Songs that nobody remembers or talked about are also lots of times better than some bands biggest hits.

I love following the progression of the earlier blues, to what I call "gothic progressive blues", to biker metal, to "radio aimed" hard rock, to mainstream arena metal.

I played Monster Magnet in the car the other day, and my wife loved it.

I LOVE that woman!

Also in the same league- Heart, Journey, Metallica (pre- "black album"), Rush, Black Sabbath/Ozzy/Dio (as a conglomerate), and Smashing Pumpkins (yes, Smashing Pumpkins!).
