Please excuse me while I climb upon my soap box for a brief moment to protest the misuse of the word counsel when referring to the part that sits between the front seats.

Thank you.

I understand, in my business I see a lot of poor grammer. They mean well, it just doesn' t come out well.

There are worse things.

That stuff drives me absolutely crazy, but I have had to kind of teach myself to just accept it and ignore it, which in all honesty, is not easy to do. I want to do the same thing you did every time I see something like that. With my job being PMEL, which is a crazy attention to detail, if you didn't have OCD before you started it type job, you will have it afterwards. And then you throw in all the great emails I receive every day being in the military. Sometimes I just want to respond back to some of the people and ask them if they have ever heard of spell check or if their kids started writing their emails for them, or maybe their kids would be better off writing them. But then I remember that I would like to keep all of my stripes that I have earned, so I bite my tongue and just delete the email.

It is hard to fight. I was also in the military 10 years, and worked in a very high security field for another 10 years, and now sell Real estate. it is disturbing that so many people had such a poor education. I just try to move on, and encourage them to get better.

I see this one a lot and I have to assume it's a spell checker thing, i.e. spell checker suggesting the wrong word. I wouldn't think someone would intentionally spell console that way

Yea, when I am typing on my iPad, I will go back and read it again sometimes to make sure the autocorrect sorcerer has not struck again. He or she can be a real SOB sometimes.

That's funny......."autocorrect sorcerer"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as long as i can understand what someone is saying, then who cares how its spelled.its not like we are in school or writting a paper here.

PCV not PVC ,,, That's one of those I get annoyed by... Lol!!!
I've yet to comment about spelling and grammar on FBBO "until now"...... I too just look at it as, "I get the point" when reading through the posts on this forum..

It's just like working on your classic car. You should care about the way you do things so you can take pride in the final product, and have others respect what you have done.

There...Fixed the word "writing" for ya. You used 2 "t's". Now to your comment. What is important here is not about if one can understand what is being read but about using a public conveyance when writing, which is a direct reflection of one's self. When you don't care it brings down the English language to a lower level than what it is. Others see this and then it becomes a snowballing effect. Being correct grammatically as well as spelling correctly makes the point more exact and understandable. As you have equated it to not being in school, then you most likely held that same argument as a student and therefore continue the downward slide of English. As is always the case here, the majority of people will complain about how the Spanish language is rapidly encroaching on our National language in the US yet they take the tact of "who cares" if it is correct or not, when the obvious answer is you should. It only takes a small amount of effort to spell check and proof read your writings...My 2 Cents...cr8crshr/Tuck

Thank you for posting that. I was thinking the same thing. You guys that want to be critical of it on this board, go for it. Maybe critiquing grammar is your thing. Hey everyone needs a hobby. My applause to all you gallant warriors of words and wisdom. If by me blowing it off is leading to the slow death and degradation of the English language, my apologies to all. Buy hey, look at the bright side....I spend my time restoring mopars from degradation and slow death, so in my book I figure we're all square.

Onward Knights of the Round Dictionary!
