Hey just a rainy day so I thought I would try to start an entertaining thread, hopefully. Lets see some simulated old timey black and white pictures of cars. Here is my offering. If this thread falls flat on it's face forgive me, I tried.

I was going to take some pics of my 74 Road runner like that, and in front of a restaurant that opened in 74. Is there some sort of tool or ap or something that provides a filter so you can make the pic look older (grainier, streaks, weathering, etc.)?

If using a digital camera you can set it to B&W then you can take the picture in low light with no flash as that will make it look grainy. That is the only way I know of.

Ahem.......just what kind of device still exists that allows black and white images??????

Almost any digital camera will allow you to set the picture to B&W. I am using a Cannon Power shot SX100 IS

cool photos Mr. Belvedere

Budnicks, that's exactly the kind of effect I'm looking for. I'm sure photoshop has some kind of filter that'll do that.

Photobucket has an edit area where you can do just about anything to a picture. My phone (Android) allows a dozen or so special effects to use when taking pictures and several more for changing existing pics. I thought all newer (mines' like, 2 yrs old...ancient for a smart phone) had this.

Budnick,
Hope you don't mind but I used one of your pictures and made it B&W.

I also converted one of the pics of my GTX taken back in the 80's with the quarter removed.

So with software yes you can convert your pictures to B&W. I never thought of this idea before.
What a great idea, i will be playing with this now! Thanks Mr Belvedere 30144

yea those are the only type of photo I have, most are 25-30 years old too

Check this out. I found a setting on my digital camera called SEPIA or SE. This simulates old time B&W. Really Cool!
