I'm having trouble finding pics of later B-Bodies ('68-72) that feature side exhaust pipes, as was seen on, for instance a '70 Challenger T/A.

Is/was this that uncommon? I would think it would've been done on some 70's gassers or something. I'm especially interested as to how it would look on a 68-70 B Body.

The only one I could find on a google search was:

I never met a hood scoop or side pipe that I didn't like. It's the redneck in me. Although I like the header look but we all know it's just one pipe that's connected. If I were to put it on a car as nice as a 2nd gen Charger I would have it custom made to reach the entire width between the wheels. I think that's what makes these look so good on 2nd and 3rd gen Corvettes.

SteveSS, are you talking about something like this?

Did a few of those back in the day, but never on a Mopar. really a Chevy thing, so never cared for it personally.

69 corvette.jpgThe slotted leg burner on the 2nd gen Corvette was a factory option. I had a '69 Vette that had fiberglass covers. Stock, the car had less than 30K on it. Looked cool but they were too quiet.

The header type was always a 60's-70's thing. Nostalgia is why I like it. I swear I've seen a Charger in a movie with leg pipes. I can't find a good picture of it but there was a series of BF Goodrich posters of cars in the 90's One was a pink Challenger One was a lime-green Cuda. One was a blue 68-69 Vette with side pipes that looked awesome.

Very cool but going into the muffler in the front and coming back out the front always got to me.

What was going on with the Vin Diesel Daytona exhaust? FF6

To me at least, the first pic with the Plymouth works, although I think the pipe shoud be a wee bit longer. closer to the rear wheels.

Lot of the rest don't look like they belong.

I wanted to do som side exhaust on my 66. Not really a full length pipe but just the exhaust tip. Will probably tig up some shape that looks rectangular. Kind of like the 4 pieces of trim on a 66 coronet.

I've looked under my coronet and the in-the-front-out-the-front makes sense to me in that if the exhaust came out the back of the muffler a u bend would need to be fabbed up to route the exhaust tip to the position that is shown on that AAR.

I'm actually glad that SteveSS posted that puck cause I've been contemplating cutting out the rear routing of my exhaust to free up space for rear sway bars. All options I have found will require me to make a change to my exhaust some way.

Those pics are just too rad for these people!!

This is the only one that doesn't look too out of place, must be the flames...hotrodded look about it, otherwise, they just don't look like they belong with a stock look, but, we all personalize what "WE" like, not what others like, you got your examples, go for it, it's not like something you can't reverse if you end up hating it, nothing ventured nothing gained.
