In first stages of restoring my 1970 Road Runner. (Basically sitting in it looking at parts catalog). It has been garaged since 1993. Shut passenger door as I have MANY times before. Door will not open now. Key will not help. Inside door lock rod not visible (disappeared?) Door will not open. Just solid shut. Any and all help appreciated. Thank you. Wait, this may have some bearing. The day before door problem the passenger side window glass fell into the door panel. Has manual crank. Was looking for info on how to remove interior of door panel when door hermetically sealed on me. One of those days. Help please.

I would inquire at a body shop. I am sure they have seen similar issues. Other than that I feel for you. Drag

The pecker fell off.
The thing that "pecks" the latch mechanism.
The window knocked it off.
Should be able to push it right back on, it's a snap on ball end/socket,
Very common issue.
15 min fix if that's it.

How do I get to pecker? Remove panel cover? Know where I can get blow up inside door diagram? Oh, and thank you for helping!

Don't know of any diagram.
Lift the window, one end or the other of the pecker is probably still connected, the loose end should just pop back on.
It should be evident after you pull tge panel and lift the plastic sheet away, and lift the window.

Friends of mine coined the term almost 40 years ago, one had a 1970 Nova that did the same as my 66 Belvedere, just a normal random thing.
I haven't had this happen in over 30 years, but remember it well.
Chances are the nylon clip lock post through the lower window support simply parted, going the way of all plastics.
I replaced mine with a metal bolt, wrapped in teflon tape where the stress rides, this on a 72 Dart, no problems in 8 years with this repair.
The window support post is about 7/16 nylon, you might be able to center drill it and put in a smaller metal bolt to restore it.
Best wishes and happy motoring.

Roll down the window and fish a coat hanger with a small hook down the latch side of the door. Shine a flash light down the crack so you can see what you are doing. You will see a latch on the back side of the striker with a small ball on the end of it. This is where the linkage should have been. Pull it or push down... I can't remembered which way but I think it is up and the door should open.

He's right it is UP, and the door should open.
Having a hard time remembering why the inside door release wouldn't work,'cause it's a horizontal pull thingy that should still be connected unless that falling window was especially evil.

Does this help at all?
