Dodge Demon

Also comes with the "demon crate" filled with goodies including snap on tools

As soon as a few of them wear out their rear tires, the tires may become a bit cheaper. I've wanted to run a 315-40-18 for years but there aren't many companies making that size. It helps drive costs down when the tire you like is a size being used in a new or newer car.

I see this as a push in the market.
The hellcat grabbed me and I waited a full year to get one.
I was moved by the upgrade from a SRT Challenger to a hellcat,
It was indeed a big upgrade.
I see this move by dodge as being an effort to move the bar a bit and cash in on it.

What moved me to buy a hellcat over my 09 SRT Challenger is real changes that played out.

So far I have not seen something about the "demon" that makes me a customer at the proposed price.

I completely agree. The additional power is intriguing, but not enough to make me want to trade up. At 707 HP, the Hellcat has got more than enough power and it really puts a smile on your face with even with just a moderate jab of the gas pedal.

I'm having a pretty good time playing with Corvettes with a 95 V6 Dakota with 23" rear tires :D The skinnylittles make the truck look stooopid but the truck looks like a pile of crap anyways and man, the picture is priceless when you stick it off the line when the light turns green and the Corvette moron gathers it up and goes for broke trying to pass up a crappy looking 95 Dakota before it makes him look like he just got the hell beat out of him! Cost to me? Nadda! Hey, can't spend 65k+ for a factory hot rod when I need to be putting my Belvedere back together but in the mean time, I got to get my jollies somehow lol

Being not rich has it's benefits. I do not have to agonize on whether or not to go for the new Demon. My wallet has already made that decision!!!

Hellcat was fairly reasonable for what it is, will be interesting to see the price of the demon

I agree that with the advent of the Demon that Hellcats might have lower prices to some extent, but then the challenge will be to find one that has not had the piss run out of it.

The demon is a "holdover" to keep folks interested until they launch the next platform of muscle cars which is based off tha Alfa Romeo guilia chassis. There was some sort of problem testing the new platform so they pushed production back and went with the demon to hold people over. great thing about this is hellcats just got a lot more affordable
The Alfa platform sounds very interesting. Every Alfa i ever drove were beautifully neutral & forgiving handlers,,, but those were much older cars.

If not for the fugly *** fender flares "I'd be slightly more interested",
BUT IMO, it'll be a instant collector car, no matter what...
& 850-900hp @ the crank, 757hp @ the wheels can't hurt

It looks to be made to excel in the 1/4 mile. If it can do all the other stuff well and the cost is not too high it might be a lasting keeper beyond what collectors like.
So far I am not moved like I was with the hellcat.
If it takes 20k more (or even 10 K)for what I see so far--I am out.

Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Dodge is streaming the launch live.

All questions answered then,

The last 2 released teasers were the intercooler will work off the cars factory AC and the PCM will have a dual function to run either 93 or race gas

I hear that!! And with a possible divorce looming, thinking about buying a factory hot rod isn't even in the cards.

Yes it was very reasonable but still, just like in the late 60's and early 70's, there were many very reasonable factory hot rods and the used ones were cheap but seemed like there was always something saying "not now" like waiting to get drafted (which happened) or job loss or some wife saying "you don't need that" and the list goes on and on.....

Sorry to hear that Cranky.....divorce is always tough, especially if there are kids involved. You have my prayers.

Kids are adults now with the ages ranging from 41 to 29. Main problem is that I'm in my mid 60's and it sucks thinking that I might be by myself in my later years. But on the other hand....it might not be so bad.
