My Hellcat has it's first glitch

Great point, Dibbons.
The entire function of the automatic transmission is electronic now, right? Even the engagement of the transmission parking pawl? Maybe the computer "thought" the parking pawl was engaged?

Thanks, Kern. --I too tend to come into a thread with a thought that may help having not read the thread through.
I drove my 6SP man. trans. car to the dealer and the code they pulled up mentioned a "sticking pawl"

I will indeed do my best to get what information I can from them when I go back in the morning.

I put my 1958 Johnson into limp mode a few times, playing with the girlfriend a few times one night. Slept a few hours, took a blue pill and I was okay again. I did it once in the box in the backyard, talk about embarrassing.

Really?

just bring the dam thing to me and leave it for a couple of yrs. !

My dream of "high tech" things of the future would be to eliminate computer chips from everything, so we are back in control of things. I know the best toast I ever had was from Mom's 1950's era toaster. I believe toasters now have computer chips--no need for them except to insure a future malfunction. To design a car that was efficient gas mileage wise and horsepower wise and clean-burning wise WITHOUT computer control would be really "high tech" in my opinion. Having a computer control everything (wiping your butt, I guess pretty soon), does not impress me.
We see the same thing with aircraft. Today's fighters are more maneuverable than ever, but they gain that maneuverability at the cost of loss of stability. These planes are inherently unstable in flight and are in the process of crashing every second they are in the air. The only reason they don't crash is their flight computers are constantly making corrections with the control surfaces to counter all the negative movements. Lose the computer and the plane becomes unflyable.

Same deal with cars. Lots of performance and efficiency gains to be had, but at the cost of a lot of problems when the computer loses it.

Took the Hellcat in today for its first transplant surgery. A shiny new PCM.

The "glitch" I took it in for yesterday was the car was in limp mode and the code pulled up was -P2227- (Barometric Pressure Circuit Performance).
A pinpoint test found internal failure of the PCM.

One of my questions was about a stored code--B25B42A- Pawl Switch-stuck. --I only got "I don't know" as an answer but it was something that could have been stored for a long time.
For now, I am just curious about it and haven't yet searched the internet for an answer.

One last comment they made to me as I was about to leave was -sometimes if these cars sit for too long they may develop issues like this. "They are built for and need to be driven" I was told.

It just so happens that mine sat for a few months because my left/clutch leg was weak and hard to control properly due to my back issues. My back is much better now and my clutch leg works well again.

So now a part of my physical therapy for my healing is I need to take the -cat- out for a walk every week or so for its therapy/wellbeing. :) BTW my leg is even strong enough to drive my 4sp coronet again.

Ya just gotta love computers!
My '16 Caddy won't Bluetooth to my phone about every 4th time in the car, same location for phone(pants pocket) stop somewhere & come back out and voila the phone is recognized???

I go into limp mode the moment I get out of bed in the morning.

I too wake up to limping for the first pee of the day. My next move is to take a nap for an hour or so. Then I'm good to go for the rest of the day.

A lot of the first codes that come up don't have anything to do with the underlying or second code. Don't know why this happens but I've seen it before.

Take the Cat out more! Lol
