Obviously you guys don't know your 50's Mopars ! Not a 58 or a 60. Not a Fury. Not an optional sedan. That is the lowest priced 1957 Plymouth- IIRC a Savoy. and I think that is what the trim says on the rear side fin. And I think they were all either 2 or 4 door sedans. No hardtops. Also , I will go out on a limb and say most all were flat head six cylinders. If that is the case, the V on the front fender has been added. The 331 Hemi was last used in Chrysler passenger cars in 1955. In the 50's, Plymouth was the only Mopar that did not have a hemi engine. .....................................MO

The Plaza was the entry level Plymouth, the Savoy was a step up. No convertible, but it did have five body styles: both two door coupe and hardtop versions, also four door sedan and four door hardtop options, and a wagon. 301 V8 with either 2 or 4bbl carbs was a popular engine.

Of course, this could be a Plaza, not a Savoy...

But looking closer, I'll agree that it's a 1957, mainly because of the headlights. It has two large outboard lights with inboard parking lights, the 1958 versions went to full four headlight systems.

Just last week I missed a 59 Savoy on Craig's list, 2 sedan, perfect for the 59 361 I have rebuilt and looking for a shell.
Fins went up about 1/3 of the way into the rear window C piller, 2 door post.
Still looking, any body have one for sale?

‘57 Plaza, notice the single headlight. Dual headlights were mandated for 1958.

I thought 1955 or 1956 was the last year of the plaza. I saw that there were 5 letters in the name trim and so thought savoy. I don't remember ever having seen or heard of the entry level Plymouth as being available in a 2 dr or 4 dr hdtp. Got a picture? Might you be talking about Canadian Plymouths? Another quick way to spot a 1957 rather than 1958 is the vertical flat bars in the grill below the bumper....... MO

Numerous sites show the Plaza as existing from 1954-1958. I don't know if the Plaza had a hardtop, I was referring to the Savoy. This black car could be either, I haven't tried to make out the script.

could have been a poly 318

I like how it's a "could have been" build.

dual headlights mandated?

never heard that. By whom?

Could it be a "Plodge?" A Canadian homologization of Plymouth and Dodge?

"allow" and "mandate" are not the same at all.

Personally, I prefer traditional dual headlights over four.

As for the car Sonny posted, I like it but it looks strange in solid black. It almost looks like a 4 door to 2 door conversion but it is probably because the roof is the same color as the body, not white as I usually see them. That quarter window is massive!

Jeff is waiting for May 2nd for the premier of show, just saying!
