We haven't been educating kids in our schools in decades now.
We indoctrinate them, liberal style. Turn 'em into little socialists.
We do them a huge disservice in doing so.
Not only are they programmed, but they are for the most part ill-prepared for life.
Why so many of them wind up living in mama's basement at 30 and owing tens of thousands in student loans.

How to create a social state – The Cloward-Piven Strategy:

1. Healthcare– Control healthcare and you control the people.
2. Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3. Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4. Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state
5. Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives. (Food, Housing, and Income)
6. Education – Take control of what people read and listen to; take control of what children learn in school.
7. Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.
8. Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

The communist movement of the 60's started all of this; the leaders of today's leftist/liberal/"progressive" Democrat party were born of that movement.
You'll notice a lot of these objectives are either already achieved or in process now.
None of what has transpired in our society in the last 50+ years was by accident or "organic" - it has been by design.

The so called liberal/soacialist agenda some bring up is BS and fueled by political nonsense. If you take the time to see what kids are learning today you will find out they are way more advanced then they were when i started grammar school which was back in the late fifties. While we might not all agree with the curriculum taught today the educational standards are much higher. The socialist or liberal agenda can be explained in children being taught tolerance and understanding the world around them. This scares people who would rather children grow up to be the spiteful bigot hypocrites there parents are. Now dont disappoint me and please RED X asap.

The internet is used for all of the self worshiping idiots on twitter, facebook, snapchat etc... rather than using it to educate themselves. Leave teaching to someone else? What's wrong with that? Aren't teachers trained to teach? Don't teachers get paid to teach? What if the parents aren't any smarter, then whose responsibility is it to educate the kids? What if the parents don't have an understanding of algebra or biology? How are they supposed to educate kids if they are not trained to do so? I know of two cases where teacher union reps told teachers NOT to tudor kids after school... because that would make other teachers look bad and then all teachers might be expected to stay after school to tudor. I know of another instance when a friend showed up at a board meeting for the first time. After the teachers went on for a half hour about shorter work days and smaller class sizes, (becaust 18 to 20 was too many kids). This person asked, "When do we talk about the kids? He was just about laughed out of the room. There are several problems here. Teacher's unions are a big one. Fortunately for my kids, my wife and I do take an active role in their education.

There is still no excuse for graduated students that cannot read, construct a sentence, spell, annunciate words, make change w/o a machine, or understand the basic geographical location of the 50 states. And there are tons of them, see 'em everyday, products of mediocre education and inattentive parents. Plenty of blame to go around.

No boys, it has nothing to do with liberalism/socialism or any other crap you can think of. What it really has to do with is a pile of parents who don't know any better themselves, failing to recognise the problem, to busy to address the issue or do anything about it, and too willing to blame everything/body else but their own failings. Call a "spade a spade" and find out just how much your children know or don't know and deal with it. And if you're not educated enough yourself, find someone who is.

These threads make me cringe. What is up with all this blame the liberals crap? Liberals didn't pass No Child Left Behind, Bush 2 did. It is never that simple anyway. I am on other car forums, and only this one has this silly bias towards the right. I can only guess at the reason, but stop believing everything Fox says like it's fact and do what you claim kids today can't do, ask questions, do research and think for yourself.
Our founding fathers (most republicans say they agree with them) believed religion was a personal choice, and was a big reason this county even exists. It has no place in government. You can not legislate morality or spirituality. Once you do, what happens to those with a different belief? Throw them out? Round them up and re-educate them?
BTW, a tutor teaches, tudor is a house of English royalty or a type of architecture.

I only posted this for the “humor” of it. While it’s sad that these kids could not answer correctly, I think that “the kids” need to take responsibility for not knowing the answers. Let’s not pass the buck onto the teachers.

Burntorng70 has best argument. I spent 33 years running a high school science classroom, and once cell phones and social media appeared.....
It the distractions, guys. Look at countries whose students do better at academics than us (there’s more of them all the time): their students are focused, and yes, it’s because their parents support them and expect them to achieve. And many of these students don’t have cell phones because of their financial situation.
