When you say Chrysler Hemi...you've said it all!!!!!!!!

The last production Hemi was in 71. 47 years later, top fuel engines are still a Chrysler based Hemi engine. Enough said

Ya know, that would be awesome if you could get it to fit!
Why waste a hemi like that. Sell the Vette.

. I was watching Hydro-Foil Boat Drag Racing and wouldnt you know, the winner was Hemi powered.
You want to talk about some balls, those things are floating coffins.

The boat in my signature pic had a 426 HEMI in it from 1980 until 2005 or so.

When I bought the project, the guy wanted to keep the HEMI for a 64 savoy project.

Seriously when you look at head design volumetric efficiency of the hemi. Who cares if 455 has 500 ft lbs torque. That engine was never on circle tracks never in top fuel. It's just not in same league as mopar.

all those fueler cars funnies and top fuel are mandated to run that chrysler bore spacing . its not a by choosing them . it kept the shootgun and the cammer ford hemi's out of it . sorry to say its not a fair world . its also sad to say that there are better hemis out there . but on it behave i must say that it was a 6 mouth design from 1963 for the famous chrysler hemi . and the other ones are later and better design head . i know from my time with a engine machinist that built motors for all types of racing back in the day . he put a stock 429 ford hemi on the dyno . and put it up against the famous 426 hemi and many semi hemis n wedges not saying whos but their were a bunch of gm motors . all within the 427 range . i watch with ''ah'' as he pulled more torque n ponies from that stock ford 429 hemi , then any of the others . even a mildly modifies 426 hemi couldn't make the ponies but matched the torque . and that ford idled like a station wagon motor . no rockn or bouncing around . well we or i should say he broke it . and did it break . well at least the chrysler hemi didn't come unglued that that . but again it was stock as a rock . with some good parts in it , there are a power house . now we never did a cammer . but a bud has a nascar one in his 64 corba . he dyno'd it and man its 800 plus ponies in that street roadster . and it idles great and runs wow does it run .

Which ford had the six foot timing chain?
That was the s.o.h.c.427. cammer to the intelligent, sock to the morons .
Ford developed it for nascar, but mopar bluffed NASCAR into disallowing it by showing a mockup of a 4valve dual overhead cam engine.
The cammer was never installed in any production car, available only over the counter.
If you think hemis are expensive, try buying a cammer.

its the cammer with miles of chain . but i hear there are a gear package replacement for that chain , it @5k . but its nothing to have 50-70k in those motors . not for the lite pocket crowd , lol . but there are co's casting 427 blocks and that cammer heads and parts . but today's chrysler hemis do out power those of old . not sure if the cool looking cammer can be beat . chrysler'

Yep, for decades cammers were unobtanium, but they are now being reproduced. You just have to have lots of money!
They are visually stunning motors, and made a lot of power, but I think they got a reputation for being fragile.
There is a Ford guy in california that runs one HARD at drag week, but I think he is the only person in the world leaning on one, they are just too expensive.
