Correct color for front end parts

Thanks Justin, I refer to to resto page often for pics, details etc. Its a great reference
I you ever, ever, need help with anything and the processes dealing with originality...Shoot me a PM anytime my friend....If I do not know, I know someone who does.....

Thank you for the compliments:thumbsup:

Thanks Justin, I just want the car to look correct, I'm not worried about having the exact same sheen and waht not, but just the correct colors etc. Thanks so much
If you go with hot pink and titanium you don't have to worry about correctness.

Thanks so much. My car is going to be a nice car, not contours but a nice clean restoration. I have a 69 roadrunner restoration thread in the restoration section. I'm out ready to install the k frame, engine, front end etc. I'm not sure yet if I will use my car lift to drop the car down on the engine and k frame or install the k frame first and the engine from the top. The car is located in a different garage than the lift so I would have to make up a dolly for the front and transport the car

Sounds very nice indeed....

Best way is from underneath.......I do get the 2 shop situation.....You can also lift the car as I did without a lift...

What about lower arms?
Our 67 lower control arms were painted black. No doubt. Car was never apart and under ball joints and snubber it was black paint.

I am only referencing 68-70 here.....There were NO painted lower controls arms in 68-70...

One of my friends deals with 67 and earlier and has ran into lowers control arms painted black...

But we have to stay relevant to what the OP is restoring and not commingling wrong years,....

More information available for 68 up mopars restoration wise, 67 back not as Well documented. And you would think from 67 to 68 not much difference but sure seems to be.

It is a shame the early mopars are not well documented.......There are a few folks trying to improve that.....Unfortunately, those cars are so old now that time has destroyed their originality..........

A lot of the best looking mopars are pre 68.........I wish more people would embark on restoring them versus fantasizing about a later B or E body......

The 70 cosmoline dipping process was different as seen in this pic......68-69 were dipped as the picture attached...

Also, to note the idler arm bolt is installed upside down.....The block pipe plug is painted engine color, which it was installed after paint and was a silver zinc finish. The are areas on the engine block that should have little or no paint, the pic shows everything is orange....The fuel line Oeitker clamp is a incorrect reproduction. I don't see pn on the grease boots....I think thats good enough to get the idea on how I look for the finer details...

Even though it was a nice attempt...Based on the rust it is not well maintained.....Thats the part of going with naturals finishes which makes the car a headache......

Hey moparnation74 these forums are to try and help each other out. Please correct the above list and help us out.
Hi Rey, just so that you are aware....Justin is one of the most helpful people on this site as far as resource goes. Check his restoration thread out...he has provided more concise and correct information about an OE restoration than anyone else I can think of here. He is my Number One go-to guy for correctness, and Richard Cranium would be my second.
These guys are always helping out. .....just check out their post counts, and threads posted.
I see your has a ways to go to catch up. :)

The "above list" was mine!! I agree that if it's wrong, PLEASE correct it.

We have been through that rodeo previously.....you did a fine job compiling that list.....I just don’t have the time at the moment to go through it.....

We love you anyhow....

I didn't compile it -- and have no recollection of where I got it many years ago. (I think I photocopied it from a Plymouth resto book although I'm not sure.)

When we both have time let's work it up right! I can type as fast as you can talk ... and then FBBO will have a Color Chart everyone can rely on.
