Looking for some help, is there anyway to tell via photos if these 1970 Charger seats are Leather or Vinyl?
Someone wet them all down before taking the pics.
I've never seen a set of actual SE or RT leather seats in person before. any identifiers i should look for on real Leather 70 seats?

If they are original than i would say leather based on the look. Vinyl from the 70,s was not easily mistaken for leather and there appears to be grain to these pics and the vinyl would not have a grain but a artificial texture. Of course these seats appear to have a ton of armor all on them in the pics so its harder to tell.

With the close ups I would also vote vinyl. Im not sure about the original leather and the backing. Today's leather seats all have a cloth backing. They do that to make you think you are getting more than you are, which is a 1-2mm thick leather veneer bonded to a cloth or vinyl membrane. Not sure how far back the industry started that. Too bad you cant smell them. There is no mistaking the smell of leather.

If the seller claims they are leather, ask him to take a picture of a burning cigarette ground into the seat cover. If it's truly leather, there won't be a burn mark. His lack of response will indicate vinyl covers. :)

Thanks- Maybe someone here has a set of leather 70 seats and can let us both no if they are fabric backed

It is really hard to tell from the pics. The 70 b body pattern was known as "basketweave" in the center. It came in vinyl and leather. Most leather seats had vinyl outers as far as I know.
