This will be a slow moving project, but it will get done. Hopefully the car will move faster than my progress!

It won't be a full blown restoration, thus the title. I plan to make some upgrades along the way. I will not be taking the car off the frame.

Wish me luck!

Evidently you haven't crawled underneath it yet:poke:.

Good luck and post up some pictures.

I'll rephrase: current plans are to leave it on the frame. Floors and trunk are solid as are frame rails. We'll see.......
I was just poking a little fun seeing how these are unibody cars, the frame is part of the body so there is no frame off restorations on them. Looks solid in the pictures.

That's good that it has a sure grip diff.
You should consider putting in frame connectors like I did.

While I'm happy to be back on the East coast, I miss my Alaska home and shop. I'm in a small condo at the moment....

Karl, what size rims and tires are those?
And what make is the rims?

They are American Racing Torque Thrusts...17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the back. I don't know yet if they will fit all the way around. I picked them up on FB Marketplace for 500 bucks figuring I could sell them if they don't work. Tires are 225/45/17 and 275/50/17.

I'm starting to collect parts while my mechanic goes over the car.
I bought a nice Holley carb and HP exhaust manifolds over the last week or two. I found the manifolds on FB marketplace for $375!
Up next will be bumpers.

@Karl C. Vester can't wait to see more! I've got a 72 RR and am going to start on the metal in a few weeks. I'm looking at the frame connectors / torque box combo from USCarTool:
lhttp://store.uscartool.com/Level-1-Chassis-Stiffening-Kit-71-72-B-Bodies_p_140.html

If you decide to put on a frame connectors/torque boxes post up where you got them from and if they were good please.

Can't wait to see progress on your RR.

Thanks for the link. I'm early into my research, so that kit looks good to me.
