Im about to purchase magnum 500’s from year one for my 69 roadrunner. Looking at 15 x 7 up front and 15 x 8 in the rear with 235 60 15 in the front and 275 60 15 in the rear. Has anyone used these wheels from year one? Wondering if there were any issues and wondering if anyone else is running the same tire and wheel set up? I don’t think that there should be any clearance issues. Thanks

No those sizes should fit easily

Not sure what you're going for here
but;
the 69 Magnum 500's
if you're doing a resto (OE examples) & want correct style wheels
the 69's had a 'beauty ring', painted wheels, that were 14" diameter too
14" 68's 'Road wheels'/chromed & painted, had no 'beauty ring'
the ones sold by Year One, are far more of a 'day 2 look'
Ford style wheels or closer to the 68 'Road Wheels' than a 69 example

either way, good luck, should look nice too

Thanks for your advice, I understand what you are saying I know the 69 has a trim ring, but I prefer the look without. Thanks for confirming that there are no issues with fit

Actually I think trim rings came out on the 1970 and 1969 were chrome 500's?? Anyway here is 275 and 235 15's on my friends 69.

If you want to fill the front wheel well a little more use 225/70/15 tires. Same car with 70's on front.

Sounds like a nice formula.

Yes I’m hoping it’s the right set up, I think I’m going to pull the trigger

The Magnum wheels in the pictures are actually mine. I let him borrow them so he could see what they would look like on his car and how the tire sizes fit. I am also putting trim rings on mine. When I purchased my wheels and tires I used what Hawk used on his 70 RR. Loved the look on his car from all the pics of his road trip.

Do you have drum brakes? If you decide to go with a disc swap some of the bigger rotors might not work.

I bought the Magnum 500s from stocktons. My discs just barley fit. I think they use the same centers for 14& 15s. I had to do just a little fudging to get them to clear. But the backs were 15x10 so that may have a little to do with it.

Tks for the advice
