How the heck do you get the chrome drip rail trim off of a 64/65 Plymouth belvedere Hardtop? I have everything off except the pieces over the doors. I know they are clipped on and I don't want to damage them. All the screws and the window track stuff is off. Even the pieces that run down the 1/4 windows are off. I just dont want to pry and bend something. What's the trick?

Yes they are a pain ...If I remember correctly I slid mine forward. Be careful with those goofy clips.

Several different approaches..

I use a small block of hard wood or a paint stick. Start at one end and gently tap the wood with a hammer from the bottom side.
Do not use metal tools as they will distort or scratch the molding if slipped. Patience is the key.

I just removed the chrome off the parts car and used wood and a rubber hammer.

I use a plastic bottle opener works great

Did you get it removed? Just did this yesterday and went better than I ever expected. Happy to share how I did it.

I was scared to death on removal and install! Lol!

Yes please share, I have to do mine next!
Guys,

Sorry for the delay. Have to work every now and then to support my Mopar habit! Anyway who would have thought something that turned out to be so easy causes so much angst. Anyway, I guess I have it easy because I have a Belvedere 1 and there are no clips! I did start out by watching the you tube video at the link I provided. But this guy is moving way to fast and it appears his main goal is to remove the trim only and not to remove and preserve! I had to do both so I went a whole lot slower (a whole lot slower) and made sure I did not damage my trim piece in any form or fashion. I will attach a few pictures here and I'll try to describe what I did to the best of my ability in the next post.

Oh yeah and for the install WD-40 (your friend), patience and your palm are all you need.
