Wasn't that a charger with a "not for sale" sign on it?........
No, I think you are getting confused between this rusted out Superbird, and a rusted out heap of a Charger sitting in a thinly wooded area with a crudely handwritten sign stuck to the rear pillar with tape, that read "Not For Sale" ....but I might be mistaken. :D

It makes me sad that literally every write up on these sort of cars focuses on how much you can make or not make flipping these. Why can’t people just enjoy these as cool cars without putting a dollar amount on them.

It makes no difference where or who you are, price and what it's worth always comes up when it's a Superbird. That includes other Mopar people too.

It's worth about 137,000 if you watched Barrett Jackson today when it's in nice shape

But my point is that this is an awesome car even if it’s worth five dollars. I get it all the time when people look at my ‘70 Bee project. Literally every person comments on what it’ll be worth when it’s done. I can’t be the only person that doesn’t care what it’s worth but appreciate it as a piece of automotive art.

However, when you have to put in well over 100 large into a car that's worth 137 large, it's time to care.

I wished all of Are Mopar cars was worth $200 hundred dollars that way I could have (more)and leave the buyers and sellers to other brands.

I was surprised to see that red Superbird sell that cheap on Barrett Jackson yesterday. Most of them are selling these days in the 150k to 200k range depending on the driveline and level of the restoration. Some friends of mine looked at the Craigslist Superbird recently and they said that it needs everything. They said that the car is a matching numbers V code, 4-speed, Dana car, in a great color combination, and deserves to be saved.

When I purchased my first car circa 1973, it was eight years olds and $125.00 (1965 Valiant four-door V-8 auto). Later that year, found a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix in running condition (cracked windshield) for $100.00. Things have gotten a little inflated (out of hand?) since then. Now $137,000 is a bargain?

Actually mine is worthless at least to me, I'll never sell, after I'm gone I won't care then either !! :realcrazy:

These cars will have the same fate as Modal A and T, 55-57 chevies, etc. Values on them will drop. If you like them great, they aren't an investment. LOL

As the people that grew up around them pass on, there will be fewer interested in these old relics. The unique and desirable will hold some value, the rest... not so much.

JMO, that rusty SB is a 30K car at best.
