I just got home from Spring Fling. While I was there, I dropped by the Glendora Dodge booth and spoke with Matt Deane. They had a display of Aeromotive Stealth pumps and tanks. I told him it would be nice if someone made production tanks for 62 - 65 B Bodies. He said they do now. He showed me the price sheet for Aeromotive's new Gen II Stealth tank and pump kits. It's advertised for 64 - 65 Polara, but I'm guessing they'll fit all 64 - 65 B Bodies(?). I should've asked, but didn't. Anyway, I was pretty excited about it. $498.33 (200LPH) and $561.20 (340 LPH) for pump and tank. They did not have any on display though.

nice..but being the RMA type of guy I am.....if it should go out while on an out of town run....what unit do you buy to get home with OR ARE YOU STUCK with proprietary only sourced from them unit? Replacement cost and turn around time....inquiring mind...

That's a good point. Hopefully, the Aeromotive pumps are reliable and live longer since they're in-tank. I don't know anything about their reliability. But, you'd have to drop the tank and have one on-hand or hopefully be able to get one if there was a problem. Options are limited for early B's, unless you go out of tank and carry a spare or use something that's readily available. I'm still trying to sort through all of this to make an informed purchase.

I'm going to check into this. Could prevent some headaches modifying my tank for electric. Seems like adecent price.

I wonder it they just mounted their pump on the top of the tank like they did others and cause you to need to cut a hole in the trunk pan or shim the tank down a couple inches... or if they got their stuff together and made a step down model like tanks inc.

I dunno. But I ran the part number from the image shown above and it's not listed. Going to email them.

So I ordered one of those tank/pump assemblies (#18463) from Aeromotive- responsive, helpful folks over there. When you look up Dorman tanks for 64-65 Polara, then check fit it- not surprisingly- also fits the Savoy, Fury, Satellite, Belvedere and 440 (all 64 some both 64 and 65; excluding wagons). There may be a slight difference in filler neck or such between the Polara and the others, but I am hopeful.

Keep you posted

Glad to have caught this post. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a 64 EFI ready tank. Hoping it’s a good fit and no need to shim or cut. Not too interested in that look. Good luck and I look forward to following your install!

It's in, wired and plumbed. Leak at inlet fitting to fuel log, I'll recheck tomorrow. And the regulator is acting funny. Got late and called it. All in all its coming along.

What's the difference between the 62-63 tank and the 64-65? Kramers list one part to suit 62-65. Can a 64 tank be used in a 63?

I am looking at this for my Phoenix at the moment.

Trey, did you get the 240 or 340 LPH pump? What fuel reg are you running with this? And where did you run your supply and return lines?

With the 9” and big exhaust on mine it doesn’t leave a lot of room so am willing to wear the cost ($850AUD locally) if they do the job.

Thanks,

Graeme.

what kind of injection are you guys running?

I basically threw away a fun little car when the in-tank fuel pump failed for the second time. The first time it failed was on thanksgiving (a few years ago). The tow bill and first pump replacement cost almost half the value of the whole car.
I will never EVER build a car with an in-tank pump. I don't buy that "it lasts longer" bulls#!t for a minute.

Don't know this is true running with low fuel level most of the is a in tank pump killer? My 68 Dart ran it low all the time. Problem with that the hook to hold the float put a hole in the bottom of tank. Of course it leaked when I had a half tank of gas in it.

Anyone know if you can run this tank or any tank for that matter with relocated inboard springs and 3" exhaust out the back?.

Dan, my 65 Belvedere has relocated springs, 3" exhaust, and a stock tank.
My buddy has a similar setup in his 64 Savoy. He has an external pump for the EFI.
