This is the simplest of questions.
The main parking brake cable and sheath that run through the torsion bar crossmember: Does it simply push through the hole and lock with the small thin spring barbs?
For removal or replacement, does it simply push/pull into place? No hidden clips ?
I ask because I'm welding in torque boxes and don't want to make any future parts service unreachable. Thanks !

Thanks Paul....******.

Yeah, I thought it just pushed in. I plan to cut in an oval hole anyway to aid removal or installation if ever necessary. Thanks!

Don't mention it, that's what friends are for.

PS What are you working on? That's certainly not your 68.

That is my 1970 Charger I call "Jigsaw".

I sort of save mine but will be not using it again. Didn't help it any. Yes bend the barbs.

Hope you don’t mind me hijacking your thread, Kern Dog.
When I bought my charger a few years ago it came with a new parking brake cable as the front portion was broken. Today I installed the new front cable (which was a real pain in the b hole) and I was thinking I may as well just use the rear cables in place already but they are not sitting evenly:

Do I just tighten it up and see what happens or do I need to take the drums off to adjust them?
Oh and one more quick question: does the cable just sit unprotected in the (let’s call it) deflection bracket? Would the cable not rub and fray in there?

Thanks,
Nigel
