i think you are either misunderstanding or just not trying.
first,both of your replies are speaking of the pms here only.
im talking about Email Offsite.
ill explain again.

it starts here,then we Cant post pics in pm-s.
so we are Forced to go offsite to make a deal happen.
this is foolish and its being called okay by you guys.

second,and quite disturbing to me,
is the way you both Ignored the point i made about giving out email info on this site.
esp considering the Fact that you guys still have thieves and scammers as members.
youve personally told me before that you cannot remove them.
so,this whole business of " taking the deal offsite "
it might make you guys feel better,but it Doesnt make Us safer and tbh it puts Us at Risk.

or is that the whole point?
you guys just dont want to be responsible for anything?

Many members send their e mail addresses and phone numbers through a PM to a prospective buyer or seller. For your internet security, it's a bad idea to post that informationin the forums for all to see. That's one of the reasons why personal messages are here for you to use. As far as I know, posting photos in PM's are the only thing you can't do in a PM unless you are a Gold Member. That's one of the benefits to being a Gold Member.


We didn't ignore your point. Wheeling, dealing, , comments, e mail addresses ,phone numbers, and personal information is a bad idea and not allowed on sale or wanted threads. Site rules from the owner. His site, his rules. Another perk for Gold Members is they are allowed to post their e mail and phone. I personally do not recommend it but I allow it because it's in the rules.

If you choose to go off site that's your prerogative. I have done it many times myself. But, you don't have to. You can do it all through a private message here.The only thing you can't do in a PM is send photos and that's simply because you are not a Gold member.

there is no security once we go offsite.
whereas,if we could just do the pics in the pms from the start,
there would be no need to go offsite until you are paying and shipping.
and,tbh,looking back on past deals,there really isnt much security here anyways.
heck,there isnt even a list of bad sellers here !!?
so this site doesnt really offer protection of any kind to the members.

i find it ironic that people are using the excuse that so many things need to be done daily,that we should just pay for gold.
the fb groups do not get paid nor advertising and yet the scammers and thieves are banished Immediately.
they also have to deal with 100s of posts daily versus this forums 30-50ish a day.
most of those groups are run by 1 or 2 guys/gals Max.

disclaimer,this doesnt mean in anyway that i dont encourage supporting Joey,and this forum.
i have been gold before and i would encourage people to help keep this place going,
because it IS the best resource out there for our b bodies,a bodies and trucks.
i understand Joey doesnt like the fb app,and i understand why as well.
fb is great for the buying and selling,and some of the tech,

Just as one example Rob...I had a member contact me about a year ago BEGGING Me to remove his email address from a post he had made only days before. It was one that was missed by all Staff & Mods, and had caused him much grief. In fact he had been spammed by email by all manner of low-life scum the world could assemble in a shorty space of time.

We do this to protect you. I don't even agree with Gold Members being allowed to do it, but I don't make the rules.

Reading and understanding the rules here is something you agree to when you sign up to use this site. Most people probably just did the usual, and clicked YES.

Another example here is for those who continually ask for Mod's & Staff to get involved to help resolve petty disputes over shipping costs or lack of supply etc. I have taken it upon myself to try and help on occasions here and I can tell you, that never once has any good come of it. Either I get accused of being biased, or am slammed by one of the parties involved. I have even personally called many members here (yep it costs me money) to try and talk about problems, as it is easier to get the message across.

In one deal I spoke with Tony D'Agostino for over 45 minutes. No real resolution, except to say that both parties told a different side of the story, and the member here is still bitter about it to this day. I did my best, but was unable to determine the truth. Photos and explanations were nothing like the reality I was given to understand. I know when members are bitter.....I can read the way they apply LIKES & THANKS on posts.

So please, when you start voicing criticism aimed at those who try to protect you, have a little thought about why we do what we do......instead of launching out with a rant first. Oh, and threatening to leave here doesn't carry any weight either.

Sending photos through a e mail is no more or less secure than posting them through a personal message. Your photos could be posted anywhere on the site unless they are illegal or immoral. If you have photos that you need to send to a member that are that sketchy, you should send them through a e mail anyway. Now, I don't get your point. FB has billions and billions of dollars worth of staff and technology to weed out the scammers.

but are too cheap to support the site
or have a business that is related to the site
& still makes $$/profit off the site,
too cheap to spend $40 for a gold membership (with perks)

it's even been gifted to me several times

I've done the same for others too

or Mods here now, are by far the most fair on -www-
of all MoPar related or car sites for that matter,
they do it for near/next to nothing, for their efforts

& complainers constantly

it's your choice to make a $40 donation

Just before I head off to Mike's Bar....we are not getting at you. It's more about trying to get through that we have little control over how the site is laid out, and we follow instructions & suggestions by our Leader. We are merely acting as Joey's Agents, and helping to keep the site clean. The rules are the rules, and the site is how it is. Suggestions can be made, but remember that change costs money and time.

I am fairly certain that Joey doesn't run these websites for pure shits & giggles....it's a business to him. I for one am pleased that the current virus conditions have not made it necessary for cut-backs here at all the sites.
