was that the guy you were telling me about? Did you stop by and asked him again if he would sell them?

Damn, I would love to fix up one of those Birds!

Yep , no deal, same crap, I’m going to fix them up one day. The 68 is a true Petty Blue with the 999 paint code.

wasnt 999 special paint code, police or fleet?

Hes killing me, I can get a flat bed and we can grab them tonight when hes sleeping.

I all but offered my first born and my left go nad for either of the three. I even offered to restore the 68 for one of the Super Birds.

Hey it goes back to one of my post , Still Out There. What a shame, but they are his and he has the right to do what he want with them. I will keep trying to work a deal.

Next time show up with lots of cash for the car you want. Money talks.

I know this may sound crass - but start working on befriending any relatives... we all know these cars rarely if ever get restored... they get passed on in the will to people who generally don't care about them and are willing to sell.

Now that’s funny Lol. The guy uncovered them and let me look at them all.The blue one is yellow originally, way prettier than blue. But his dad was a die hard Petty fan. I guess that’s why he had Earl Shibe paint it. Hell he has the 68 Petty Blue car what was he thinking?

Which one is he most likely to let go to a new owner (i.e., you)?

999 paint code special paint .....along with the 97 code.....only 3 petty blue ,68 roadrunner cars built .....all came through North Carolina involved with petty enterprises I believe.....that car rarer than both wing cars
