I think that it should be noted that what makes the site great is the members that contribute..... whether it is responding to tech threads, posting pictures of cars at shows, posting about new products or selling parts.
Memes have gained in popularity and the threads with them get views...LOTS of them. Look at the guys with the largest "Likes" in their box and that will be one indicator of their popularity. I like knowing that the memes that I have posted have entertained the members here.
A huge LIKE count doesn't mean anything except proving that some people approved of something that I shared.
Yes, Politics are not allowed in the General Forum. The thing is, politics have seeped into so many aspects of our lives, it is a fact that many topics can be deemed political that were NOT politically charged a few short years ago.
The Moderators have been really fair with me most of the time but have spanked me as well. Are they obligated to patronize the whiners even if they think their complaints are worthless?
The way I see it, This site has a majority that think one way. At the same time, it also has a tiny minority that thinks another way. Why in the world would someone join a forum knowing this and IF in the minority, badger the others?
Maybe I am just missing something. I try to attach common sense to matters in my life. I'd never go to a soccer forum and tell them that soccer requires far less skill than baseball or football.

If a given website is to accept advertising revenue from a "packager", especially say the largest such in the world...
there are stipulations to agreeing to accepting that revenue.
"Strings attached", as it were - which include what "content" may be acceptable or not to said advertising service.

In the case of the aforementioned largest on planet earth ad packer, that pretty much mandates being sanitized
so as to be deemed inoffensive to the "woke" folks of the world, of which that company is certainly a major funding
source for their own political agendas - a form of hypocrisy, if you get right down to it but hey, they got the
money, so it's their rules.

So - as a website owner, you get that sweet ad revenue (which is sizeable, since it is from the biggest and baddest)
but you have to engage moderation to throttle site content to conform to the mandates that come with the $$$.
When a sites' vast majority may lean in the opposite direction politically, socially, etc. from the ad packers' own
leanings, you wind up with a sort of hyper-sensitive moderation of the site content.
Sound familiar?
It is what it is. I don't offer any sage wisdom to "fix" any of it, just acknowledgement that it exists.

Agreed, but that's the only arm-waving gif I could find.
I saw a website some years ago that had attempted to transcribe Gabby's "authentic frontier gibberish".
That whole scene is wonderful and the bit player doing Gabby was awesome:

Comedy died about 5 years ago. A nation of... “Waaaaaaaa!” :(:D

HBO aired it (Blazing Saddles) in its entirety this past weekend. Not one edit, I was shocked.

It’s a pay service. If someone isn’t happy, they can cancel.

I quit paying for corporate media in 2018.

They can suck it! :D

yep that didn't take long
