Climate change?

It just dilutes the alcohol. Same as the distilleried diluting barrel strength from 130+ proof down to 80. 2 things, they do a lot of tasting to see how far they can go and still have a good flavor while thinking how much extra spirits they can bottle with the same amount of raw materials. LOL I am not a fan of ice in my spirits (unless it's a mixed drink) If it's not good enough to drink neat it's not good enough!

It looks as if you have put in the research time on this issue. I'm a beer and shot guy. So ice to me is just for the cooler. But I have started to appreciate wine as I have aged. I used to think it was adult kool-aid. But once I made a connection with dining? It started making more sense. But DAMN. Wine is a complex question. What wine? With what? And when? what year? I get turned off and need a tequila shot.

Neat, does that mean when you drink it straight out of the jug without drooling?
:lol::lol:

And if you get the right tequila you can pour it in a Glen Carin and sip on it with out ice, salt, or lemon. A certain double barrel Repasado comes to mind.

The climate is changing, there's no doubt about that. The climate has been changing well before man existed, hard to prove that man's actions is speeding thigs up.

There's this big focus on emissions etc. In my books, the biggest problem to tackle is overpopulation. We keep adding billions and billions of humans to this earth and that's not sustainable. When the time comes, mother nature will wipe us out and start afresh and there's nothing we can do about that.

That certainly adds to the energy consumption. I just believe we don't want mother nature to fix the problem? Might not include us? Or at least the majority of us. 2020, US population went down. But not globally.

Ok. Beatles "Come together." What the hell were they talking about in the lyrics? Aerosmith did a remake. Didn't help? Tyler made less sense.

But there is heat and smoke which does end up in the atmosphere.

Are you referring to Minneapolis in 2020??? They sure no how to pollute and fill up landfills with business's...

If we think we know more than mother nature or fully control her, we are very mistaken. We are just a fart in the wind and when the time comes she'll do as she pleases.

Flying around the world, even from 38,000 feet it is visible that humans inhabit very little of the earth. I just can’t believe that humans are now the root cause of a climate that has always evolved.

This thread here is mostly an echo chamber with a lot of climate change deniers whooping it up. Bottom line is that climate is changing. Humans have a role. It is crazy to think that we are not part of this world and the evidence that has been assembled is compelling. Nature will respond, but we do not know entirely how? We do not know how bad it might get. And it looks like we are going to find out. Or at least our kids will find out. The last administration's response via Pompeo wasn't actually denial. They just said people could move. What they didn't want to happen was for people to move the US. They meant the rich people in the US could move. Didn't go so far as maybe the US could move but I wouldn't put it past us.

It is important to bring this up and discuss and learn about it and how it might affect our lives. I don't know where we are headed exactly, but I don't like what I see. I have been watching the models for the past 30 years and learning about them for the past 50. Sure, some were wrong and disproven. That is part of the process. Most have turned out to be increasingly accurate. I doubt that many of the 'facts' listed in those memes are actually true. I think those were just made to feed the echo chamber by someone who had hurt feelings.

OK, tell us what's wrong with this simple meme....

Have you got an answer why every single climate disaster prediction for the last 50+ years has failed to materialize? All these climate hucksters predict is impending doom and gloom if we don't act now. Yes, man is putting CO2 in the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels, but so is nature. So far, no one can say how much CO2 is from man and how much is from nature. So what does it all mean?

Here' an interesting article that I just found.....
Decomposing leaves are a surprising source of greenhouse gases
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/06/170605121306.htm

Now, if I were a climate scientist, the logical thing that I would recommend is to eliminate this "deadly" source of greenhouse gas and cut down all trees. Would you not agree that my solution makes perfect sense?

It’s like weather reporters. These idiots go out and hype storms all the time, they fake barely being able to stand in the wind while teenagers walk by in the background. Is it bullshit? Yes, but then houses do get blown away and people do drown. The presence of hype and stupid predictions doesn’t establish the absence of something real.

For the “the world is too big and we’re too small” crowd, you obviously don’t understand how this works or the math involved. It’s real and it’s happening. The whole “the climate has changed forever” is equally stupid. It’s the speed this is happening at. Sort of like saying “I’ve accelerated from 0-60 a zillion times” as you position your car to be rear ended by a fully loaded semi. How different can it be?

On the flip side, every time there’s a “weather related (or not) event” some jackass will blame it on global warming, heck I heard some fuktard say the condo collapse in Florida was due to this too! The odds this stuff will happen might change but a hurricane or snowstorm in June don’t prove or disprove any of it.

The big deal to me is doing something about it. There are so many sheisters out there who only want to make a buck, and so much groupthink that the whole “solution” deal is brimming with ********. The USA adds to this faster per person than anywhere but then China etc are massively overpopulated. We say, “but they aren’t doing anything” while we contribute 2-3x as much to the problem (per person) as they do and they say, “why would we do anything? They have *** standard of living”

Probably no real solution. Much of the world reproduce like flies and aspire to waste as much as we do. We’re killing the planet (at least for human use) at an incredible pace. Might do a bit to slow this down but I feel bad for our kids.

blah blah blah depressing thread. So anyway, it's saturday of labor day weekend and it's going to be 78 and sunny today so I'm going to pull the cover off my 69 Coronet and rev up that blown 440, burn up some tires and smile listening to that big *** 440 sing. Life's short, lets go get them muscle cars out and have some fun guys!!

Indeed! Doing the same. Coin toss on a local car show or watching some classic sports car racing at Lime Rock.

Hell, I'm still waiting on the "coming ice age" the lab coats were promising us in the '70s....

Since I have referenced this fact several times in several threads. The climatologist's did proclaim the coming ice age and within a short time they did a 180 and decided on the more "newsie" popular global warming prediction. moparedtn your point is right on the money. A big page in the Dem play book is that "the sky is falling", our Dem policies are what's needed to save you. BS. But they have enough "scientists" that buy into the Dem policies and provide the supporting predictions to match. Climate change is real and has many, many contributing factors, almost all of them have nothing to do man. Climate change has been real since the creation of earth and will continue no matter what man does.
