On the 440 source website they state "we have never seen an HP3, (or just a "3") although Chrysler does allow for it in their documentation," That statement still stand?

HP and HP2 stand for 1st and 2nd shift respectively. I have never ever heard of, let alone seen, a 3rd shift!

None of it matters anyway. It’s just a stamp.

I started that pipe dream a few years back, hoping to see who will try their luck with the home hand stamping kits. Glad to see it's starting to stand the test of time lol.

I was taught that men tell the truth and little boys lie, you certainly don't have claim to the above in any other place than in your mind.

The HP stamp was for assembly line workers. It denotes that a different cam and dampers are in the engine. Also different carburation settings. The blocks are all the same for the MY.

I bought my first 440’s stamped HP in the early 80’s. By then the cam and carburetor had been changed on them.
