On a 5.7 stroker to 394 what is needed to mount a 833 trans. What flywheel will I need and will the crank need machined for a pilot bearing/ bushing.

You will need a small block bell housing to start with. Brewers has the flywheel (as well as a clutch and PP). Your crank should be machined to take the pilot bushing because as I understand it Mopar designed the back of the crank to take either the TQ snout or a pilot bushing. I believe that you can use the same pilot bushing as is used for the Tremec but you might have to shorten the input shaft of the 833 about 1/2".

The crank is an aftermarket crank from Manley so not sure. Looks like a bushing would fit just not sure what size I'd need. Does the input shaft definitely need cut down

I am not 100% positive about having to cut the input shaft, I'd say more like 50/50. I have read where people have said they had to do that and then others say they didn't, but I think the actual population of people who have or are running a 833 behind a G3 is not super large. I was going to exactly this in my 71 Charger and was doing the research about it which is where I got my information. I then changed gears and bought a TKX 5 spd kit which gives me everything short of the pedals and driveshaft which when I did the math worked out to be a better deal. I had the 833, shifter, handle, and bell housing but the trans was a bit of an unknown (although I do have 3 of them), and I really wanted that 5th gear so here I am.

That 5th gear would be nice. Does the trans tunnel need cut with that trans

No which is part of the reason I chose it. The TKX was specifically designed to fit older cars. The kit they sell is as I said complete, trans, shift handle (not sure what they have for a 68-70 B body but for a 71 up B its a billet pistol grip), bell housing, cross member, fly wheel, pressure plate, clutch, hyd throw out bearing system with MC and lines, etc. Hell they even give you the trans fluid.

Damn even the fluid . So is it a hydraulic clutch I assume. That would sure be sweet. Did you already get yours installed. Was it pretty straightforward. How much is the kit I'm guessing in the 5k range..

or just make what you need!

Has to cut off a little less than a half inch off my A833 on the 383 rebuilt. Had a automatic crank put in the motor. Use the standard bushing. Had to bevel the end of the shaft just a bit. It went into the bushing plenty. When putting the trans in came up short on it bolting all the way up. Did not figure. So called my motor guy and he said that did not know how far to drill that area with out getting into the oil journal. We had to find a different crank due to the third bearing race was not good. But found a good donor. We only had to go 10 over on the grind. So I don't know about the 5 speed TKX. Looked at that but here Brewers makes and over drive A 833. But their is a waiting list so I here. Maybe a gear vendor is in the future.

The TKX seems like a really nice transmission. Strong and small.
Where does the shifter sit? Can you put it in the stock location or does it sit in-line to the transmission?

Well the shifter can be placed in a variety of positions along the top of the trans. Part of their pitch is that the trans will basically replace a standard 833 in terms of overall location, fitment and I believe shifter location.

Here is detailed information on TKX shifter positioning. Silver Sport Transmissions makes a B-body kit.

Per the article: "While it’s confirmed to be a no-cut fit for E-bodies, B-body tunnels will require a bit of massaging to gain the TKX’s extra gear."

Now I just wonder what "a bit of massaging" means? I can't help but be cautious and even a bit cynical about that statement. When I installed my Gear Vendors overdrive into my 727 equipped 73 Road Runner, they said I had to "dimple" the tunnel. Well, :bs_flag:, I had to beat the living crap out of it to get enough room for the GV unit.
I'm super curious to see how this fits in a B body manual car with no console. It seems like a super nice transmission.

I will be installing a TKX into a 71 Charger and into a 70 RR so I will get some first hand information on this subject. It will be awhile before I do either but I will post what I find/do here someplace. The RR installation is going to be a bit different bc the car's owner wants the shifter back in basically the E body location so we will see how that goes.
