I still don't understand how people managed without cup holders in classic cars, anyone have a solution for getting a couple in the 66 Charger? I was thinking something like saddle bags that hang over the rear center console. See my 30 second mock-up below. Anyone see something like that?

These work pretty well on a smooth surface. Eventually the rubber beneath tore then it got tossed.
There is a suction cup on the bottom won't tip over on it's own.

Of use this and hammer everything down before you get in the car:

I’m sure it’s not the breakthrough idea you’re looking for but I’ve made do with these…

I was thinking someone surely made something but if not I'm going to have my metal fab shop make something custom in either brushed aluminum or black to fit over the rear console. Not sure what it will end up costing, but if it works and people like it I will be able to have them make as many as people are interested in. Will keep you posted.

We used to have a separate windshield washer bottle with a foot pump from a 67 mustang ,A long hose. Under the dash. :D

I know back in the day before cup holders we had coffee mugs that looked like inverted funnels.
I seem to recall mine having a smaller mouth/opening but you get the idea

Was that seriously what those were for? I never really thought of that on my dads 66. Figured it was just a shape on the mold of part.

Those must have been strictly for A&W and drive-in movie theaters. Even being stationary, the smallest bump would make a mess.

I can't even get a sealed coffee mug between my legs because the factory steering wheel in my '67 hits it. I pile up an old flannel shirt around the mug to my right to hold it in place.

Anyone rig one up inside the console under the arm rest? Just open when you need it.
