Brand of products that you've had lousy luck with......

Auto Meter - Purchased a 0-100 PSI fuel pressure gauge kit from Summit and it was direct shipped from Auto Meter , and the kit came with a 0-15 PSI sending unit by mistake . Been waiting since March 28th for them to ship the correct sending unit , still not shipped . They keep saying it will get shipped . Am about to log in to Summit to review my purchase and I don't think Auto Meter is gonna like it very well .

Gates belts. I had three of them blow apart on my lawnmower, lucky to get 90 minutes out of them. Replaced with a Husquvarna kevlar belt and no problems for the past couple of years.
I have a Gates Green stripe belt on my garden tractor that's been on it for over 20 years now....it was 50 bucks and I got it for cost back then. Did they go to hell in a handbag in the last 20 years?

Good question? There was a time back when that Gates was the good stuff, easily better quality than
Dayco or Goodyear. Have things changed?

Samsung appliances! There will never be another Samsung appliance in my house.
I beg to differ.

I have many Samsung products, and they do what they need to do, for as long as any other I own, or have owned. I would take a Samsung over anything put out by Apple, Philips or Microsoft.

I also have no time for non-branded tools, they tend to be cheaper copies of the real deal.

I will never buy a Mitsubishi vehicle or appliance ever again....my wife wanted a Mitsubishi fridge because it was Stainless Steel outers.....I hate the thing - just like their cars...absolutely no practical room for the basics like bottles of milk.

Another pet hate of mine is a brand of product that advertises what it does in its own name.....for example - Greenfinder golf clubs. ....worst gold clubs I ever used. I wish my Grandfather had never bought them when he was a young man....and then bequeathed them to me.

Automotive store 'in-house' branded tools and products are generally junk. Super Cheap here and Aussie....more like Super Crap.

Add to my list of hated items - Holley electric fuel pumps.....I even made a video after the second brand new one failed within minutes of installation.....now run a Bosch pump, and zero issues.

I am what you might call a Tool-snob.....I love my Makita tools, and they serve me well. However, I am the sort of guy who looks after his tools, and takes pride in their continued good condition. :)
And while a lot of Makita tools are made in China now under licence....all the high-end tools are made in Japan.....of which I have quite a few.

Phoenix Graphics and their incorrect 69 Bee rump stripe.

And won't buy/have again.

For me it's General tires. Used to be GE appliances but think they are better now? From what I'm hearing from friends and relatives, Samsung appliances suck and don't plan on having any of that.

ANYTHING MSD

Home appliances: When the service man comes to take a look and then tells you it's hopeless, ask him what brand to replace it with. These guys know their stuff. No salesman shine or bullony added.

Yep, which is why the Frigidaire/White/Westinghouse/Maytagandwhateverothermerged brand stuff is gone from my
kitchen. As for the "Lowes brands", he said specifically to avoid LG and Samsung and gave specific reasons why.
I always acknowledge expertise (after doing some follow-up on my own, naturally :)) .
For the "we're not rich" price range, we chose (his recommended) GE for stove and fridge and have been quite
happy with both.
The old Bosch dishwasher still chugs along (I've had to replace its' computer board a couple times;that's a
known issue with those) and there's a 30-year old (pre-merger) Made in USA Frigidaire side-by-side in the laundry
room used for keeping our sodas and water cold (and overflow frozen stuff in winter).

New MSD is really bad!
Exactly! I had (and stupidly maybe did t take it off the Dakota when I sold it. It was the one and only box that lasted while every other delish t has failed and FAILED with excellence! Not one product has made 30 days.

Interstate - junk
Interstate buys their batteries from clarios and johnson controls mainly.
What alot of people dont realize is that..
Mercedes, land rover, jaguar, toyota, lexus, scion, kia, hyundai, honda, acura, mazda, audi, subaru, volkswagon, volvo, nissan, infiniti, john deere, bass pro/ cabellas, kubota, costco/ kirkland batteries all come from interstate we just put their sticker on them we also sell to porsche and optimas from clarios. Orileys buys from johnson controls as well. Here is the wall of labels that we put on the batteries before we send them out.

I've seen a few brand names I've grown to love and trust. However, when I read the title, the first thing that came to my mind hasn't yet shown up here...

Accel ignition products -- any and all of them!

How are the HF tools holding up? I'm pretty well tooled up with Craftsman (mostly from the 70's), Proto (gifts), and Snap-on. Lot of the Snap-on stuff came from estate sales etc and were too cheap to pass on so haven't needed to buy anything in years but do have a aluminum jack from HF. Had two Lincolns but one needed rebuilding after years of service and even bought a seal kit and it just sat around so I sent it on it's way. The other one still works but have to put some weight on the saddle (foot) to get it started....
Their 72 tooth ratchet is guaranteed for life, at less than $20.00. For the average guy working on his car it would probably last a life time. I don't own one, but you can bet if I needs to replace my over priced name brand, I'm taking my happy *** there to get one. I have many friends in the business, they play the game of odds. Look in the back of a snap on truck, it's full of broken tools taken in for replacement.

I dunno - I still use their distributor cap and rotor for the RB Chrysler; they're still that heavy bakelite
sort of stuff with brass inserts, well made - and a dead ringer for Chrysler stuff, too.

Kinda sounds like me....
I got all my Craftsman stuff from 30 years ago (when they made decent stuff for us Harry Homeowner types)
and the only changes to the tool box here is when I go to a flea market and see something old and cool I like
(old "big name" ratchets, sockets and such).

Just snagged a "baby" Ridgid 8" pipe wrench that has to be 30+ years old - but practically new, sharp
teeth in the jaws and all - for $10. :)
