At last after nearly 4 years, we had another visit to an old friend's place locally - to see his tractor and machinery collection. Lloyd is now knocking on 90 years old, but is spritely enough to pass for 70.
Lloyd has collected these tractors and other toys over quite a long period of time, and he does like showing people around....and who doesn't like listening to engines roaring away on a Saturday afternoon?
The cars are another passion.....Lloyd normally trades his cars in every two years....although he did a bit extra this time. Decided that he probably will have his driver's licence taken off him soon (given his age) - so he went and ordered a 2020 Corvette Stingray. He has always been a GM (Holden) guy, and he has always gone for the top of the range. He recently traded his Holden W1 car (one of only 320 built - 300 for Australia, and 20 for NZ) and was given $40K more than he paid for it. He also recently traded his Holden R8 Maloo Ute on a Jaguar I-Pace 400kW electric car - and got an extra $50K on top. Decided to buy his wife a Tesla, as the Maloo was getting a bit too much attention for a near enough 90yo lady to be grocery shopping in.
Anyhoo.....we're here for the pictures....enjoy them as we enjoyed the day perusing the machinery.
Oh, and we got a shot off with homemade cannon also.....and managed not to set fire to the remaining fuse cord this time.
