Thinking about the stance on my Charger - I want it to be lower, but not too low. This white car looks about right, the purple is on the low side. I'm not too interested in scraping everywhere.

How much drop do you think the white car has?
 
Looks like the white car might be an 1" lower than stock....and lowering it another 1/2" would suit me fine. The purple one needs to be raised an inch in the rear imo
 
I usually like the height so the top of the tires are level with the top (highest) lip of the wheel wells.

The purple car has some external flaws but, judging by all the extra gauges he's got in it, it's pretty well built up. I'm thinking he could have air shocks in the back and it raises up. It's definitely too low in that pic.
 
My car has the same stance as the top white Charger. The front is stock height and the back I added 2 leafs springs. My personal taste for me.

I can't really see the wheel well vs the tire height. The picture below is how I like the stance of my Cordoba. Tire size obviously needs to be right.

I like them low but not too low, like the purple car pictured. My Charger is original/stock ride height with 295 rear tires. My Challenger does have -1" rear springs and a 1/2" lowering block, but this car does have 315/60/15 drag radials (30" in dia) and it sits Slightly lower than my Charger.

Looks like the rear end is too far forward.....at least in the pic.
I thought that too after looking at the pic when the shot was taken. I was somewhat disturbed and had to keep checking. Its the angle of the pic. Not much of an angle but just enough to give it that forward look.
 
I measured 6 3/4" from the floor to the bottom of the pinch weld in the front and 7 1/2" in the rear. The header is about 3 ti 3 1/2" to the floor.
 
The white car and the purple car both need a LOT more/taller tire in the rear.

Isn't it the stock size? What are the advantages/disadvantages of a taller wheel, and what would you recommend?

Do manifolds hang down any? What is normally the lowest part of the car? The oil pan? How much clearance is a good minimum for normal driving?

First, this is just my personal opinion.
The white car sits okay, but If you look at the rear tire height verses the wheelwell opening, there appears to be a couple inches of open space, both in front and rear of the tire. I would run a tire at least two, maybe three inches taller.
The purple car is running at least 17" wheels, clearly not stock. I have no problem with larger diameter wheels, as long as the tire height is near stock, or taller, in the case of the 71-up chargers and roadrunner.
The tires on the purple car look like rubber bands, I would put something on those wheels about four inches taller. And wider, if possible.
Those cars look like an elephant on roller skates with small/stock tires.
 
Small block headers run 3 tubes below the drag link unless you I have TTI headers. That would be the lowest point. If you have manifolds and the exhaust is done right you would have no problems. My oil pan is about the same as the k- member. I do have to be careful when driving over speed bumps and dips or my headers will hit.

I have 245/50x17 nitto g2's on my 57 Chevy sedan delivery, 27" plus tall, as much tire as will fit in the old wheelwell. A 275/50x17 is available. Most are suv tires, but drag radials are also available that size. 9"rim, 9 1/2 tread, 28"tall.
Hankook makes a Ventus 275/60x17, even taller yet, with a very racy looking tread, very un-suv like.
Would REALLY fill that wheeleell of yours up.
 
It's an interesting idea. Sort of goes against the idea of dropping the car. Does a taller tire slow a car down or speed it up?
