I’ve been on the trail of my fathers old 71 demon for quite some time. I’m in Canada but I have a feeling the car may have gone to the US or at least out of my province (Ontario). In Ontario we can get what is called a “buyers package” if we have the vin number which shows all the registered owners over time. Does this exist in the US on a federal or state level? Is there somewhere I can pay to do a vin search to find a car and it’s owner?

Being down the same road as you, there isn't
much you can discover on a vehicle prior to
1981 and the 17 digit vin number
standardization.
The following link explains this in detail.

Long shot but a little info here on demons..

you may have already tried just a regular search through as many search engines as you can find.
also, in the USA, some private investigators have access to dmv records and may be able to assist. For a fee of course.. good luck!

Seems Ontario is the only province/state that gives up this kind of info if the car is still around. I’ll keep posting around social media every so often to see what pops up.
