Yeah, I'm learning how to cut my own hair now. Been just doing some trimming but today I did some major cutting lol. It ain't no worse than the last hair cut I got and had to pay for it. Should have told her she needed to pay me for that mess! And she was the freaking manager of the joint....

I’ve been cutting my own hair since I left the Army. Can’t really screw up a buzz cut!

Only had one buzz cut and that's when I went into basic.....and really didn't like it and haven't had one since.

Yeah, you really need a round chiseled head to wear that style and not a lumpy deformed head like you were dropped on ya head few times while you were a baby. Lol!!!

I've been cutting my own hair for 10 plus years. Every 3 weeks or so. If my math is somewhat correct, estimating $15 a cut that is a $2600 savings minus the $50 I spent on a set of clippers.

I can cut my own hair, but it ends up a little too short to suit me. I was having my girlfriend do it, but then I found a "barber school", advertising a $5 cut. Since I just get a #2 all over, even with $5 tip, it's easier than trying to get the girlfriend to do it.

Last time I went for a cut was shortly after veterans day lol

I've been cuttin my own hair since 2002, the last barber that cut it was Achmed when I was in the desert back in 2011. I haven't had a cut since I retired in 15, except for the split ends and a shave of the back of the neck.
I Proudly wear it long now as a statement for the Homeless Vets and those MIA's not yet Repatriated!

Started cutting my own hair about 3 years ago. Bought a rechargeable trimmer which I find easier that the corded style. I just use the guides from short to long to get the taper I want. I use scissors to trim the longer hair gathered between my fingers, knowing about how much I need to trim off. Did OK the first time and got better/easier after a couple of cycles. You get accustomed to maneuvering the trimmer using a mirror. There are videos online to use as a guide.

Ten bucks for a rice bowl and it'll last a lifetime.

Mine has been $20 including a tip for quite a few years now.

I have just shaved mine to a #2 ever Sunday night once a week for many years. Nice, quick and easy.

Y'all need to get with cr8crshr and teach him how to do it!! He keeps complainin that he can't do it do his own, he doesn't have much to begin with, he's so bald he has a ring around the head at the ears!!! Maybe he should just get a Norelco as short as he wears it! :poke::poke:
BTW, I used to give him buzz cuts before I moved.

Been cutting my own since 1992-ish
haven't been to a barber since
1/4" on the sides & back, then 1/2" on top
& blended in the top & sides about the top 1/3rd
with a 3/8", don't remember what #'s
'high & tight'
don't look much different today
a lil' older & greyer

I had sort of 'mid-length' hair as a kid
as an adult I've had it short, most of my life
me 16 y/o, that was the style :poke:

I used to go to a barber in Concord Ca. on Clayton Rd.
for the 1st 27-ish years, later on it was like $10 IIRC,
(I think it was org. like $2.50, when I was a lil' kid)
I'd talk with the guy a lot & tipped him $10 usually too,
nice guy...
Always a few people all ages, in there BS-ing & waiting
it was like a Norman Rockwell painting...
He was doing it for decades, he did my dad's hair too
we tell stories & reminisce
Until dad didn't have much on top anymore (he cuts his own since too)

My org. barbers' dad, was the org. barber there, since like 1955
(I think he owned the whole row of businesses property there too)
then the son, was there alongside him for about 20+ years (72-92-ish)
then inherited the business...

My oldest sister Lori sometimes would do my hair, sometimes
but she moved to Oregon, so I started to trim my own
go to the barber, like every 3rd or 4th haircut or for a special occasion etc.
I like to keep it short, still do, less to deal with
especially in hot weather, been cutting it myself ever since...

$33 Wow!

I'll pay $18 every 6 months with a $2.00 tip. These chain "Cutteries" never have the same gal in there twice in a row. Most are just out of school and don't do the best job. The last time I went it was another new girl and she did a great job. Now see if she's still there when I need cut again.

I cannot sport a buzz. I have a head that really needs hair to cover the dents, scars and imperfections.
