I’m a liker of many models of old muscle cars, GM, Ford, AM, and owned a few, still relish, my GTO’s. I was the only one in the family getting all giddy about mopars. Lol, my elder brother who hated mopars, giving me a lot of chit on mine, just bought his first, at 71, new decked-out 8 Durango he can’t say enough about. I guess we can still call it mopar material.TO THIS DAY,i STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT PEOPLE SEE IN MUSTANGS!
I read a ton about how they set up the chase and the Charger and Mustang on taking the abuse of the SF streets. Maybe you have. They had to do all sorts of suspension mods to the Mustang, and what I gathered, the only thing they did on the Charger was up the T-bars. The driver in the Charger was a legendary stunt driver seen in other flicks. McQueen was an accomplished race driver; but read that around midway through the scene, he relinquished driving to a more experienced driver. Who knows? Could be an exec got too nervous about their star’s welfare.I like them, 67-70 Fastback models.
In Bullitt I preferred the Mustang. Better fake soundtrack, cooler wheels, cooler driver. In the movie, and watching at a young age the Mustang was the car that was portrayed as being the cooler car.
Those are the reverse lights. In WI, you are only allowed to have red lights facing the back.
Given the overwhelming majority of the Mustangs of that vintage were inline 6 powered, the horse has a good chance of winning that tug of war![]()
Too bad it wasn't. According to the mechanic who set up the cars for the film, the stock Charger R/T literally ran rings around the modified Mustang!I like them, 67-70 Fastback models.
