What will I need to convert my 63 Savoy to power steering? From the research I've done, it looks like I can only use parts from maybe 62 to 65. Is that correct?
Thanks, Wally.

To be on the safe side I'd say '62-'64.
The steering shaft is shorter for the power steering. The coupler is a different diameter at the steering box so you need one for power steering. Some are using aftermarket steering boxes. Then whatever steering pump you decide to go with you'll need the correct brackets, hoses, pully. Then at least a double pully for the crank shaft. For a big block, 440 Source has the pullys. And brackets for the Saginaw pump.

I recently converted my '62 to power steering from a manual. I really like it.

I did my 65 from manual to power. I used the column out of a 64 sport fury. My car is a 4speed. I sent the pump out
for rebuild and bought a rebuilt box from an auto parts chain. Everything fits and work good with no leaks.

But I STRONGLY recommend getting an aftermarket performance steering box. in my opinion the stock box is to over-power.

the car was a totally restored.

Thank you for the info. Do you remember what year the pump and box were from?
Oh, and I had a 66 Coronet wit P/S, loved that one finger spin, lol.

I plan to convert my 62 Savoy to power steering also. Initially, I thought I would go with a Borgerson set up but Borgerson told me because I have the 318 poly their conversion package doesn’t work. I’m now thinking I may have to try and locate an original pump and steering box have them rebuilt as necessary and go that route. Would love some advice from someone who has already converted their 62 to power steering. Thanks!

Not sure why the Borgeson will not work in a '62. I fitted one in my '63 which I thought was pretty much the same. Is the '62 K member different?
