Hi all thoughts on making my 63 plymouth fury convertible 361 commando(engine is long gone) into a 383 sport fury 383 golden commando bading .is this a good ideal or bad ideal.thoughts please I have a total restoration that I'm doing. Making a Sport Fury clone would be cool but I don't know if I would do it unless I had all the Sport Fury specific pieces on hand when I started. Or even a parts car would help as I wouldn't want a Fury with some Sport Fury pieces on it unless tastefully done. Like adding buckets and a console versus putting Sport Fury badging on a Fury.

I really like the 1963 Sport Fury. When my Mom was going to buy a new 1963 car, I tried to talk her into buying a Fury. She ended up getting a Mercury Meteor, instead. I especially like the Sport Fury interior, with 2-tone bucket seats and interior panels. The dash, with all the gauges, is nice, too.
I agree; if you are going to do it, go all the way with proper badging and interior. I know that Legendary Interiors has seat sets, and possibly door cards for these cars. Be careful buying bucket seat frames, as the Sport Fury ones are different than contemporary Dodge Polara 500 ones. In the end, it is your car; your decision.

Just wondering if all the trim accent locations are the same as the model you're working on ? Would you have to fill, or possibly create new holes to mount the SF trim ? A nicely restored '63 Fury is a Gem, no matter what the model. JMO of course...

Was brought home from the hospital when i was born in a 63 Sport Fury!8 yrs later my dad bought the 70 Hemi Charger which I still have.

Yes I agree.i have the seat and console all so the badging is the same (I mean the holes are the same except the trunk)I was thinking that I would just leave fury on the trunk changing the fender embles because it had 361 commando baging already.thanks for the reply.
