Everything started clicking for me this year. Won some races. Got the car into the 9.30's. Decided I needed a little more power to complete in 9.50 class during summer months. Was going to send the heads and intake out for hand porting.
Got the heads off yesterday and found this.
3 different gen 3 hemi experts say they've never seen them crack there...
my luck continues...

At least you found that before you had them ported. A friend with a set of Stage V Hemi heads had his CnCed. 30 passes later, they were junk.

And you took it apart before you found water/coolant the oil. Amd it's not even winter yet so you have a few months to get it back together.

Why did it crack? Timing or fuel mix problems? Overheating? If 3 guys never saw this they why are you having it. Think over the operation of the car.

Could have happened where you got them from if they were used.

That's not into the waterjacket, is it? Sparkplug hole to the seat. Interesting. What are you going to do?

Water/Coolant in the oil is a bummer but with that crack going toward the valve seat dropping a seat would have been much worse.... Sorry to see that but it could have been much worse.... Man Bob, you can't catch a break....
