What do they mean when they say manual valve body, in a 727 tranny??

You have to put the shifter in 1st to take off and then move the shifter into 2nd or it won't shift....same for 3rd. If you leave it in 3rd when you stop and then try to take off, it'll take off in 3rd gear. Mostly a drag racing application but some use them on the street that way. The valve body is more or less the 'brain' of the transmission....

You can buy good manual valve bodies or you can turn your present valve body into one. Some aftermarket shift kits like the Transgo TF-2 have that option.

you might want to look into reverse manual valve bodies as well.

I just had my tranny built as one.

though the RMVB and MVB are options on cars... most people I have come across who have had them chose to remove them due to the fact they got tired of shifting. RMVB and MVB's are good for drag racing applications or strip/street combos... but for everyday drivers.. they, IMO, would be more of a pain in the *** than a positive attribute.

correct me if im wrong but wouldnt it pretty much be the same as having a manual tranny just with no clutch (pedal)
