Full 8 3/4 rear end I removed from my 1970 RR. The 8 3/4 measures 59 1/2 inches from outside face of the brake drum and 44 1/2 inches from the center of each spring perch. The center section is a 741 with a 2.94? gear, according to the tag on the housing, and no sure grip, it's an open diff...
Ha! I can't say that I have. I've been on their lot once on a Saturday but there were no models anywhere to be seen - almost false advertising if you ask me.
Smoky Mountain Traders is 10 minutes from my house; they have lots of muscle cars but some of the prices are just too steep. Even run of the mill Chevelles and Camaros they are trying to sell for 40K, 50k and even higher. I looked at a 70 Chevelle SS that was a clone with the hood stripes...

Ha! I know it's a huge project but I think if I take it in small steps and don't try to rush just to get it on the road - it should turn out pretty well.
The outer cowl shell is rusted through on the ends where leaves accumulated and water couldn't drain - I will get some better pictures this weekend but here is what it looked like before blasting
The flange that the bottom of the windshield seals to is gone - I haven't ordered a new outer...
This left me with just the shell - I loaded it up on a trailer and dropped it off for media blasting. If you are close to the Knoxville area, I would recommend Strip Technologies America. I dropped the car off on a Friday and it was ready the next Tuesday - here are the pics I received from John...
I also made some caster mounts for the rear that bolt to the front leaf spring hangar location
I then removed the drivers quarter panel - although there wasn't much holding it on except for spot welds/lead at the roof
I also removed the dash frame, heater box and both doors
I wanted to be able to move the car around - I don't have the widest garage to work in. So I bought some casters with 8" wheels and some box steel. Fabricated a plate to bolt to the K-member mounting holes on the frame and then welded 2" x 3" rectangle box to the plate and then to a small plate...
