    got it all back together with a 315 g u joint. deffinately gonna get better gas milage and slower et in the 1/8, but im good with that for now. at least i can cruise for the rest of the season.it smokes one tire pretty easy with the open diff,so im gonna take it easy on her and make it last...

    update, i did find a few small chunks in the housing with a magnet.so i cleaned everything real good and its going back together today.the 489 yoke is 3 3/4 across and the 741 is 3 1/4 across. soo, do i need a 315 g u joint ?

    i pulled the 489 carrier out of my 8 3/4 today.its a 3.23 sure grip,and it started making noise at the drag strip last week, so im putting the stock 741 carrier back in with 2.76 gears for now.i looked at it, and the ring and pinion look fine, but the spiders are damaged.looks like a few small...

    drilled the bleeds, and it definitely cleaned up the wot.car runs better at cruise and off the line.still a little rich at idle, gonna work on that today and see if i can clean it up a bit.im glad i drilled them out to what i was told, it helped me a bunch.

    i called holley, and they told me my carb had .025 inner bleeds on the secondary side, and .028 on the outer.he also said the primary are .028 inner and .078 outer.if the front outers are at .078, then ill probably have to put a wire in the ifr,s , or change the metering block to a smaller...

    i have to get it back on the dyno for that,i dont have a wide band, so right now im tuning by reading the plugs.i will deffinately let you guys know how it turns out after i drill them.
