Thanks Mike (and all).
No apologies needed for having that 64 Ford Lightweight Galaxie (LWG) hold so many records in the MaxWedge class. That car had a 427/"425"hp alright - and Ford's intent was to have the car run in A/S=8.70 Wt/HP. Ford set the car weight at 3750, so 3750/425=8.82 which put...
A fun link!
I suspected Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags (PSMCD) when I saw the et/mph and sure enough. Its just too clean and too right.
I suspect this is a fairly high level (I've seen higher) PSMCD car, and for the most part they do NOT run like assembly line vintage factory cars. It's a fun...
OK thanks for the added info (I found the 18" extension in one of the many great YouTube's anyway!)
I wanted to Gonkulate your car to get a handle on Rear Wheel Horsepower (RWHP) for this type combo for Brewzer's thread.
Here is what the Gonkulator gets - the 60ft is just tuned to what you got...
(MoparBlood) That is one of the best YouTube's ever! And (dvw) agreed, let me use the YouTube to make my point if I can:
The YouTube lets 4 drivers run each of 4 early-1966 cars and averages the ET/MPH:
14.37 at 100.4 Chevelle 396/360 (the L78 wasn't offered yet)
15.39 at 92.6 Fairlane 390/335...
Wookie,
I have a couple questions, trying to Gonkulate ie Compute your combo.
* Weight of Barney with you in it? (I guessed 3990)
* Sounds like wide open headers, are they the same as the dyno headers or different? Care to share any dimensions?
* Gear ratios in the t727 I think you mentioned...
Hi there, I am revisiting the old 50-Fastest list, trying to sort things out apples to apples. A few of those old road tests seem a little too good to be true.
One of them is the #18 or #22, depending on your version of the list.
Allegedly bone stock 1964 Polara 426/365hp 4spd-3.23, ran
13.70...
I would be nervous about the .076 and .080 non-thrust at that power level.
I once had a 400M Ford that ran about 200,000 miles with .045" non-thrust in some places - amazing. But that was at only 260hp or so. Built the engine to about 350hp, now at .040" min non-thrust, it lasted another 1000...
Hi there, I am looking for the .050 durations on the original factory cam[s] for the
383magnum
440magnum
440sixpack
I've heard this is all the same cam (the 268-284 advertised) and then I've heard the sixpack is different.
I've also seen .050 durations of
228-241
213-225
208-221
For this same...
