Why did you decide to go back to a 383? Im installing one in my 71 charger with some clearance issues on the right shock tower. Did you have the same problem and did you run the A/C? Thanks

Im doing a 383 to gen 2 hemi swap with same mounts in my 71 charger. Do you have any pictures of the valve cover to the passenger shock tower clearance? Im having problems, stage 5 heads.

Pulled motor and trans. Doing some pondering. Im sure this thread will help others in the future...

Not sure of the brand, My heads are Stage 5 Hemi stock replacements. They just say Southland dodge cast aluminum valve covers on paperwork.

No it was a 383, it fit just fine.

yes, it is tight against the inner fender

I just installed my gen 2 hemi in 71 charger and the passenger valve cover contacts the inner fender. I have mopar performance roller rockers with cast valve covers and not sure if I can run a valve cover with more clearance or what to do about it, has anyone had or seen this problem? TTI header...

440 source has an option to lighten the crank, should rev a lot better

Thanks, sounds like a lot of work and fabricating. Trying not to cut the body up. Silversport says the GM 4L60E will handle it, I believe if I turned the hp up any I may be in trouble. Seems the 727 would be better option, they didnt seem reliable when I had them in the 80s and would like to...

I dont know if they make a kit for that, would the gear vendor and 727 be better?
