Fuel tank is vented through the trunk, at least i think. Theres lines from the tank going to the trunk floor, which i thought were cut. Also attached pictures of the gas cap. And a picture of plug #2. All of the plugs looked about the same. Oil from the dipstick smelled a little bit like gas...
Not 100% if the tank is vented or has vacuum. Only a few years old, direct replacement from Vans Auto as well as a new neck and sending unit. I believe the cap is vented, that was a replacement from Rock Auto. For sure no return line to the tank. I know when it was replaced, he cut the 3 or 4...
It definitely goes week and won't recover. The 2nd time when it happened, I stepped on the accelerator and got no response from it, like it was already dead but not completely shut down. Curious though why it started after some time (30 minutes when i was stranded, then after i got it home, 24...
No, prior to my friend adjusting the carb, the electric choke was not working, but the car still ran. Now that my friend has worked on it and discovered the choke was not working, he removed it, and safety wired the plate open. It ran great after that for a week before I put the seafoam in it...
Here are some pictures of the motor and the black residue from exhaust. Fuel bowls are between 1/3 to 1/2 full when it was running last night. If there is something in the needle and seat, that means carb rebuild?
I have a 73 Charger SE, originally a 400 2bbl, rebuilt a few years and changed to 4bbl, almost everything upgraded. Carb is now Holley street Avenger 770. It would shoot black stuff out of the exhaust and diesel during shutdown. I had a friend tune the carb, and no longer does those things, but...
Anyone know if the poly dust boots will fit on a 73 charger? Pictures of the dust boots seem taller than the rubber ones and not sure if they would compress enough to get the torsion bars properly installed
Yeah, i think its possibly some part of a former alarm system. There is a keyhole on the front lower valance ahead of the right wheel and there are wires coming from the back of it. Neither of the keys i had will fit in the hole.
I am going to get my front end all replaced and going to get a kit from ESPO, but then a friend mentioned getting new torsion bar adjusters, dust boots, and crossmember bushings. For the adjusters, i see PST says the c-body adjusters will work on the 73 charger, can anyone confirm/ Also, if i...
If anyone is curious, i did call Peter and sadly, no, his no cut coupler does not work on 73 models. Said my options were to get a 71-72 shaft, or send him the shaft to somehow adapt it. Going to research further options now.
