    My restoration dilemma

I am going to recommend MoTech Performance too. Check them out at MotechPerformance.com or socalmotech on Facebook. Murrieta is a lot closer to Downey than Canada!

The New Vise Grips Are To Be Released 4/19/21

Actually, Edelbrock has a foundry in San Jacinto, Calif. and casts their heads and manifolds there. They used to do all the finish machining in Torrance, Calif. but shut down that operation to move it back east. Why?, probably cheaper labor costs. They claimed they had to compete against the...

Edelbrock's real reason for leaving Cal-I-For-Ni-a

There are no "young Elelbrocks" running the business. It is owned by a corporation and the family really has no say in how it's run. When Vic passed away the company told the family to move his on site car collection out of the building and they turned it into office space. I'm never surprised...

Anyone using VP Fuels Stay Frosty coolant?

Would distilled water be a better choice than tap water? It doesn't have all the dissolved solids in it does it? Some of the products I have looked at are a combination of propylene glycol and water that has gone thru the reverse osmosis process. That sounded better than tap water and water...

Anyone using VP Fuels Stay Frosty coolant?

Do you have a recommendation on a brand of coolant to use? What do you think of just using distilled water and Redline Water Wetter? I see a lot of other companies make something similar to Water Wetter but I have never tried them. I agree with you about the Stay Frosty. Apparently no one on...

Anyone using VP Fuels Stay Frosty coolant?

I am upgrading the radiator in my 67 GTX and I considering using an aftermarket coolant. Has anyone used or is currently using VP Fuel's Stay Frosty Racing formula or their High Performance formula? They claim the Racing formula can lower the cylinder head temperature by "up to 100 degrees"...

I have done that. Actually my Harbor Freight gun isn't very accurate compared to the other two I have. Part of the problem is the temp gauge accuracy, will be changing out sending unit or replacing gauge with a mechanical one. Thanks

I have not pulled the plugs yet. If anything I believe it runs rich based on the dyno sheet and what the engine builder told me. Will be checking the plugs and jetting etc in the near future. Thanks

Thank you. I think I can use some of that information. I have a 440 that was bored .060 by the previous owner and it has always run hot. I think part of my problem is an inaccurate electric gauge once the engine hits 200 degrees. Changing the thermostat has helped. Mechanical gauge is next.

So the fans are supplying all the cooling air regardless of the car moving or not and the cooling system flows the same amount of coolant regardless of vehicle speed due to the electric water pump. Does that sound right?

I'm curious about what temperature your engine runs at. With the fan shroud in front of the radiator doesn't it cut down on the air flow? Are the fans on all the time or temp controlled? How many rows of tubes do you have in the radiator? I am having a heating issue with my GTX so your set up...
